a buefighter or a 410 is what we need the 410 has a biger bomb load able to cary 2 1000kg bombs

LOL  if it's ord you are worried about, then you'd better be a Beaufighter fan.

A wartime cartoon commenting on the ord load of the Beau by 44

And lets face it.  The Beau just looks better then a 410 :)

Furbie I'm guessing the radar install came on many of the mark 2's given their nightfighter role.  Mark V eh. I stared at it awhile and it brought to mind the schrage musik installations.  Must grab a beau book for the library soon.

I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

And th view for the pilot is fantastic.

Operated in the ETO, MTO, PTO, CBI.  The Aussies produced some of their own   the USAAF had some.  The Bampf Strike wing used them for antishipping raids.  Lots of trips to Norway  Had em at Malta, flying ground attack in North Africa.  Fighting in Italy and over the Balkans.  RAF Beaus all over Burma.  RAAF Beaus all over the south pacific.I'd give`up my 38G to`start a Beaufighter`Squadron, either 127 RAF or 30 RAAF

It isn't that pretty, it isn't fast, but it shouldn't be too bad of a turner and it sure could pack a punch :)

it was called "whispering death" . The intakes were for oil radiators  I believe. made in Bristol 60 miles from me. I would like to see the paul defiant in AH for a laugh too.

A few hints have been tossed around since the Con Q & A session.

Biggest one that I see concerning planes like this is a "hard point" limit.

I'm not talking about the attachment points for bombs below a plane.
Well at least only in part. As I understand it there is a fixed limit of how many points a plane can have.
Each gun burns a point, each gunner position burns a point, each rocket or bomb burns a point.

With AH current limit the Beaufighter would be over that limit. Hence no Beaufighter.
From what I hear its one of the things HTC wants to spend time on fixing.
Which could in theory open up a whole bunch of new planes.

the B17 has 12x .50 + 24x 100lb = 36 "hard points" so the Beau wouldn't even get close to the limit

Just a thought on this plane if it was to be included in AHII & Seeing that it had a two man crew & that the pilot has no rear view at all. Would it fall under an attack/bomber roll or fighter/attack classification in the world of AHII. Or could we have a fighter/bomber then have the F3 view option Because of no rear view of the pilot?

I am torn between my love for Luftwaffe iron and my patriotic duty to support the Beaufighter......

Ahhhhhhh the torment!

Mmmmmm. The Beaufighter would be a fantastic addition and I would love to see the Raw Prawns (and anyone else who wanted to) up a bunch of Beaus and stir up a ruckus in the MA!

We already have 'Aussies in Mossies' runs and they're great fun but the Beau would be a nice addition.
