Before McDonalds.

Was fun to see a tray hooked onto the drivers side door with burgers and drinks.

Bet some of you kids never been to a Drive In movie either. In a station wagon with pillows and blankets in back. Sharing the bottled Coke, Popcorn and Good-n-Plentys.

Todays kids are spoiled.

Oh well... you missed out.

Mac

you can still see the tray think if you have a Stewarts

The back row------> Mother of invention. :)
Popping the back seat from the clips on a `65 Mustang and keeping a pad in the trunk to fill in what little space it gained you to .......... errr ummmm recline in. Hated that fricken POS.
`63 SS Chevy. Now that was some back row luxury. I called mine Notell Motel. ;)
`61 Vette. Hehe...still have scars.
Didn`t they used to show movies at those things also? :)

I hope Arby`s doesn`t make the food poisoning mandatory at the Wendy`s also.

... First Ron Paul says some of the dumbest things ever uttered by a man thus losing my support, to this?

I don't know how much more I can handle.  Wendy's is THE GREATEST mass chain fast food.  If they change in the slightest, I am going to freak.

Do you remember when Arby's actually cut the roast beef that were roasting in their ovens in front of you and make your sandwich? Or am I dating myself by stating this.... :O

You mean the roast beef didn't come in "paste" form from a tube back in the day? :huh

Finally, I won't have to be subjected to quality fresh food from Wendy's anymore.  I'm looking forward to sickly meat and maybe even a Jamocha Frosty!  Ooooh, yuu..<gag>...umm..eh.

Ahhhh the memories.
At the Dollaries at the Range (3 movies at $1 per person) we'd take a carton and get drunk during the first get busy during the second and sober up for the drive to the Strand (on the seashore) during the third.
Kickin' back in the Hatchback Torana with the girl of the moment steamin up the windows....
The only thing we didn't have was the trays but I do remember them from the older drive-ins at Brissy :aok
Oh, and Rip
So is Man Chowder for that matter...doesn't mean that my wife will eat it though :huh :O
Pineapple juice can be your friend, evidentially it makes a huge improvement in the flavour department.:aok

I was a little too tall
Couldve used a few pounds
Tight pants points hardly reknown
She was a black-haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
Way up firm and high

Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my 60 chevy
Workin on mysteries without any clues
Workin on our night moves
Tryin to make some front page drive-in news
Workin on our night moves
In the summertime
In the sweet summertime

We werent in love, oh no, far from it
We werent searchin for some pie in the sky summit
We were just young and restless and bored
Livin by the sword
And we`d steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, to the alley or the trusty woods
I used her, she used me
But neither one cared
We were gettin our share
Workin on our night moves
Tryin to lose the awkward teenage blues
Workin on our night moves
And it was summertime

And oh the wonder
We felt the lightning
And we waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder

I awoke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Aint it funny how the night moves
When you just dont seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in

I remember the A&W in my home town would sell them for around .50 cents or so if you bought it with a meal. We had a ton of those mugs in my house growing up. My Dad and I would stop at the A&W all the time coming home from fishing and get a burger, fries, and root beer float. He'd always pay the extra buck and keep the mugs.

Of course I remember when Sonic Drive In, was the place to hang out and the car-hops were on roller skates. Good times in small town Oklahoma growing up.
