Some of you may know the name of Don Brooks. Owns lots of auto parts places all over the southeast and other places. Well he also owns lots of WW2 planes. He restores/helps others restore them. He had a massive hand in restoring the Liberty Bell which is flying around the country now. They are starting another B17 restoration in a couple of months. Well now to the topic:
His current (and almost complete) restoration is a P40. I am not sure which model, but they ran the engine full up today for the first time. They hope to have it ready for its first flight within 2 months. Here are a couple of pictures I shot today. I have an inexpensive digital camera so they are not the best, but it is a beutiful machine non the less.
NOTE: the ones I took of the prop spinning did not turn out well. I am having some emailed from the Warbirds/Airplane Classics writer that was there. I will post them when I get them.
Sorry for the size of the images, but I didnt have the time to resize them right now.
