Alien VS Predator Requiem
« on: April 27, 2008, 10:23:10 PM »
WHOA, this is one messed up movie!  :O

Don't know how many of you saw it, or have renter it yet but duyammn! kids, pregnant mothers, anyone...killed.  :O

I'm 1 hour into the movie and the body count is rising faster by the minute. I lost count at 20 something... not that many compared to some movies, but some things were always "sacred" and untouchable is horror flicks, this breaks all rules.

I don't quite know how to feel about it, but it is an exciting flick. So far I'd have to say it is "good", with some more B or even 1 A list star it could be a lot better. I just wanted to say OMG! Death, death, death.

I'm finished, decent movie... good action, bad story, bad actors, obvious ending, crummy lead-out.

overall I say 6 out of 10, but I still have faith in the series.

The entire series started going downhill at Aliens 3. Aliens is still the king.

I did watch the movie though. Wasn't great, wasn't bad. I think their budget is slowly dwindling though :(

Ya, you know I'm a big fan of the whole Aliens trilogy.  I was disappointed with this movie.  I mean the action was ok but it was more about watching people get whacked with no real plot behind it.

They need to take it back to more like the second movie which had some "unknown" factors to it which lead to suspense and the thriller type experience.  You need to bring the Aliens to Earth via one of the Preditor space ships, wipe it out and have the whole thing set in the time frame of the second movie.  Then we'll have a good Aliens movie again!

I can give this one a 5 out of 10.

Nah, if you want a scray movie that breaks the rules with the worst ending of any modern movie made, check out "The Mist".  The ending to that movie is just wrong.

Awe, that ending was AWFUL. I was yelling at the TV very loudly the whole time, 'cause I just knew it was coming that way... horrible... just horrible!

The Mist was a good movie.  I think Stephen King has panicked people down perfectly.

And the ending was hilarious.

Now we know tho how Weyland Mutari began, so...when the Nostromo was ordered to setup down on, WM knew about the aliens and the predators. Weyland was Bishop and Mrs Mutari got the gun at the end.

Haven't Read the mist but I did read that that was not how the book/story ended. the director changed it up to the movie ending after getting the OK from King. King said he loved it and wished he had thought of it.

I liked it because it had my jaw hitting the floor. I let a friend of mine watch it and she said she was screaming at the TV, "NO, NO, NO,".  :lol

Yep, Alien and Aliens are great classics.  All the rest are crap.

Saw The Mist in the movie theaters...the whole theater applauded when the guy with the glasses saved the day.  Those that have seen it will know what I'm talking about.  A great movie IMO, captured the other-wordliness great.

I watched that this weekend, and 'wrong' is puttingit lightly. We were sitting there with our jaws hanging open looking at one another saying "WTF?!?!?!?!?!"
