FS: Guadalcanal, The Green Hell - Side Assignments

Here are the side assignments for June's FSO. Please remember that side preferences are just that, preferences and don't ensure you the side you prefer. First thing I do is that any squad that has flown one side for 2 or 3 times in a row gets switched to the other side. Only exception to this is if a squad requests Axis (so it is possible for a squad to fly 4 or more times on Axis side if that is what they want).

Next I have to take in side balancing requirements to reach my 48% / 52% break down for this event (allies, Axis). The Axis has a slightly higher number because historically the Axis (especially Japanese side) has a lower turnout.

Finally I try to mix things up a little bit so that we don't always have the same block of squads flying together the whole time. With this said here is the side assignments and CiC assignments for Guadalcanal, The Green Hell:

Pacific Fighters is so pretty. Too bad they phoned in everything else.

Pacific Fighters was one of those all flash no substance "sims" where all the planes flew exactly the same, and flight was modelled poorly to begin with.

Specific ride assignments are up to each frame's CiC.

Although I will send out with frame 2 objectives and frame 3 objectives what each squad flew in the previous frame. All squads should end up flying a fighter at least one frame I think. Maybe more but all squads have to be willing to fly the SBDs, TBMs, D3A1s, and B5N2s (besides B5N2s get second lives).

You get your turn in the barrel same as everyone else.  Just remember to invite those gunners quickly.  There will be plenty available after first contact, and you'll need 'em for the second pass.

Did you see the scoring structure for this one?  I assume GD has hired an accounting staff to work up the numbers:) 

All kidding aside here is the "new" aspect you can focus on.  Every bomb will count!  I don't recall a FSO that scored damage to a CV without sinking it into the outcome.

Accurate Axis bombing could win the day.
