75mm HE vs T34
« on: June 01, 2008, 08:50:56 PM »
To whomever..
I have noticed when attacking the T34 with the B-25H's main gun its jut about in impossible to get a kill. Every other type of GV I can kill with only 1-2 shots and have blasted quite a few Tigers with just a single shot. After putting 6-8 rounds in many T34s I have yet to see more than a track damaged. Even the tracks soak up many rounds compared to all the other gv's. I realize the HE rounds are not very efficent at killing gvs. However given what has happened with other tanks I dont see what makes the T34 so hard to kill. After attacking from every angle (and failing) I usually pass T34s up. Usually get the kill if someone bombs them or a tank fires some AP but cant finish them off myself.

Anyone have similar issues? Is it just me?

Hit em between 1st and 2nd bogie wheel, drivers side.

Dangerous because you need to be low and he can shoot back.

T34 has pretty good allround armor. If I remember right it has better rear & top deck armor than the other tanks. I'll see if i can dig up the numbers...

Stupid question (maybe)...

Which is the drivers side? I thought they sat in the middle!

Thanks Lusche!

I've done it. Problems are many though. Like I said to hit and kill you have to be low and close. He can get his main gun on you. Not to mention trees hills and those pesky fighters.

Best to try off line to practice.

Softest spot I've found is the flat area in the rear.  I haven't really paid attention to it to be 100% sure, but from memory, every shot I've landed there, at 45deg or more, has give me a kill.  I usualy shoot at 300mph or so - dunno if that matters.

This is the reason why i love driving the T34 straight to the enemy field. Take out VH first and you pretty much own the field as the Hurrs, ILs and B25s have a hard time killing it unlike the Panzer, tiger and M4s . Vulching in T34 is very entertaining  :)

Like moot sait the back-top. Come in at about 45 degree and its a one shot kill every time. I find it easy to kill the T34 because that shot is so big and its flat.
