Tuesday Nights are "Singles Nights" or "Dating Nights" at WalMarts.

This has been going on for Years.
The Greatest "Pick Up" place ever. Depends what you're looking for.

These are some good signs to know and what to look for:

Just tool around with a slab of Bacon, loaf of Bread in the cart or both. You have $$$ and can bring home the bacon.

Never stay too long in the "Fresh Produce" section. You'll eventually be escorted out.

A single bar of Soap...means yer clean.

Bird seed means yer picky and lookin for that Special Robin..No Batman Jokes.

A single Can of Dog Food...or Two cans of Cat Food...nevermind.

A single Rose.

Fresh Meat... Tenderloins or Salami helps.

Baby Powder is out... hope you get over the Rash.

Remember dress for success, yer in WalMart dammit.

Just the tip of the iceberg...

For you that are kinda out there... Klondike Bars will raise eyebrows.

 :huh

As for the (BOOO HOOOO) poor old "mom and pop" stores?   mom and pop my white butt!  Not like my mom and pop.. they are mostly scum of the earth.   they treat their employees like dirt and cheat on the wages every way they can.. never do they give up a cent to the employees that they don't have to.   They treat the customers like dirt too when they are the only game in town.. they don't even smile at customers till a walmart shows up.  Walmart treats their employees ten times better than any "mom and pop" store treats theirs.

lazs

LOL
Around here a Mom and Pop is just that...Mom and Pop.
No employees other than themselves. :)

I drove a truck in and out of both there distribution centers, there suppliers, and to there stores. I was also paid directly by walmart, so yes you can call me a former employee, even though i was a contract employee. My ex-girlfriend and her mother both worked for walmart and was the worst work experience of there lives. She's 47 her mother is 67 so they've had other job experiences to base there opinion on. As far as trying to bust walmart on something illegal good luck with that as an individual! Now lazs2 if your so hip and set on how great walmart employment is then i'd suggest you get an entry level job there, say cashier or stocker, after about 6 months come back and brag about how great they treat there employee's. I've filed complaints against walmart and will continue to do so, but so far i haven't see one thing done, even though the so called "authorities" are "investigating" my complaints.
Something else walmart and other major companies lobby for and get in cities is a "non competition" clause that allows them not to be challenged by new businesses for a set number of years. So opening a new store or business to compete directly against them during that time period is just about impossible. Oh and let's not mention the tax breaks for the first few years, or the loss of tax dollars by the other businesses that close because they drive them out, heaven forbid we open our eyes to that. :(

I've read about the tax breaks they receive, but the non-competes I didn't know about.  Can you provide an example?  That seems to fly in the face of all the "capitalism is gud" cries.

I have worked for wal-mart almost 8 yrs now ask me anything  and i'll tell ya what I know. I have seen the good and the bad fire away. :devil

It is very easy to compete with wal-mart its called "service" i will admit ours is not very good at times.
I will tell this we never price below cost, wal-mart is here to make a profit  even the $4 script program makes a small profit.
I can tell the economy is slowing down because  I see ALOT of  well off customers that never used to shop us.

There is some good as well as the bad, but the bottom line  the way to make a wal-mart go away is not to shop there. If the mom and pops had what there customers wanted they still be in busness.
In a metro area wal-mart has found they can build a store every 5 miles. My mom has 7 wal-marts within 5 minutes of her......every one of these stores gross about $100,000,000 EACH!. (mine did $126,000,000 with about $5,000,0000 profit) :rock

I have seen 4 managers fired in the last year for ethics issues. As far as lawsuits goes it is company policy to fight everything  to discourage bogus lawsuits.

Personaly I like working for them.. 401k is good, right now I  have about  200 sick hours and 3 weeks vacation due. i get about $1600 a year in bonus's,about $2000  at christmas in overtime every year plus my profit shareing and  a raise every year.

The stores I have worked for also have worked with me on time off for family  stuff like football games etc.
the insurance gets a bum rap also, mine has bought a new ACL on one of my sons knee, He was 100% in 6 month and back on the football field as a varisty linebacker. The total out of pocket to me was $1500.

In short you get out of wal-mart what you put in it. :)
