It depends on what you want. It is a medium sized city. The downtown area is the historic district. There are limitations on the kinds of buildings that can be built. They also control any restorations. There are a lot of restuarants all over the city. There are nightclubs to go to at night. The midtown area and southside have the malls and chain places. The traffic can be bad during rush hour, especially if you are traveling from midtown to southside in the evening commute. There are places to live outside the city. If you are moving to this area, learn where your job is and decide if maybe Richmond Hill or Pooler or even Rincon ( a longer commute that will eat up gas) would be a better place to live. If you have children you'll want to look into the school districts, unless you can afford private. There are several good private schools in the area. You can also get to the beach if you like the Atlantic. Tybee Island is about 30 mins from Savannah.
