I noticed in the dual core sticky skuzzy makes refrence to the XP dual core driver, aswell as the AMD optimizer..
is there a amd dual core driver for vista (that needs to be installed) and also as for the optimizer, cant install that either under vista.. is it even needed?
not having any issues with AH on my main system, but my laptop(vista 64 aswell) is getting the spinning clipboard and the freakout bizarro seizure on the runway from time to time.
Wingnutt,
I had this same problem when I had to do a re-install of my complete system. I'm running Vista Ultimate on a AMD Opteron Dual-core 180 processor, Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe motherboard, 4 GB RAM, and an nVidia 8800 GTS SSC (640MB) Video card.
Upon re-installation, I started to see the "Spinning Clipboard" and / or the "Spinning hatstick" effect when I leave the hanger to attempt to take off. I couldn't remember what I did to get it corrected the first time, but I've finally found what appears to be a permanent fix without having to run the game in Win 98 / ME Compatibility mode.
1) Update your Video Card Drivers to the most recent version
2) If you have a nVidia card, go to the nVidia Configuration Panel and force VSYNC on.
3) Download and SAVE the
AMD Dual Core Optimization Pack. Right-click on the download and "Run as Administrator". Complete the installation.
4) Verify in AH2, that your Max Framerate is set to Unlimited (Video Settings --> Max FrameRate --> Unlimited )
The very next time I ran AH2 -- and every time since then (the past two-weeks) -- I've been running the game normally.
Hopefully this helps....
