Lockdown
« on: May 20, 2008, 07:52:45 PM »
My office went into lockdown right after I left for the day:

http://www.kval.com/news/local/19119599.html

Probably nothing, but there are a LOT of people stuck in there.  Tonight is our primary election, too, this is terrible timing.  They've been locked in almost two hours now, and I got an automated message predicting another couple hours until tests can be completed.

Wow. Your company fell short of Global Security!  :lol

J/k. Hope it ends well.

P.S. wouldn't it be ironic if the FBI was denied tapping warrant on an anthrax suspect by a judge in Oregon?  :lol

Apparently, it was a letter to one of the groups based in our office with a granular powder and a letter saying the powder was anthrax.

That's just super.  They've been locked in for almost 4 hours now w/ the HVAC turned off, and they're having food prepared in the cafeteria.

Pass on any salt when they serve the food if it's in an envelope.... :uhoh

Just got another update, they're telling some folks that they might be able to go home in 6 hours or...  by Thursday.  I sure hope that's an overstatement.

Just got an official update from the emergency response computer saying that the Fire Department will be making an announcement shortly in a meeting area in the second building.  Hopefully that means good news.  An interesting tidbit, it also says to bring signed ballots to an election official that will be waiting outside, so the primary votes will go through after all.  Good stuff!

Looks like it was sugar, woohoo.  Early on they said they had 'ruled out' sugar.  I guess they didn't try the ol' taste test.  ;)

It was a letter sent to the office with powder and a claim that it was full of anthrax, they locked down the site to minimize infection in the community.

I word for Symantec, a moderately successful software company.

Ron Paul.  I'm not in the habit of voting for the candidate I think will win so I can get approval from my friends, I vote for the person who, among the choices, best represents my views.
