Friendly fire
« on: May 25, 2008, 12:38:21 AM »
Why when you shoot a friendly plane are the bullets rubber?

Example..your firing at an enemy an a friendly gets in the way..His fault not mine , why do I take the damage?

Examply..any time I see Banshee7...and he needs to be fraged and I can't do it.... :devil

Admit it we have all wanted to frag someone for something for some reason or another.

I can kind of understand why it is the way it is now, but I would like to see it the other way. No matter friend or foe if he gets hit, he takes the damage. It would cause people to think more about when and how they are spending ammo. Also make it a perk hit(-)  if you shoot down a friendly.

This feature already exists.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

W/out killshooter choas would reign in the MA's.  It is a nessesary evil, I think it's pretty obvious why it's there and why it has to be there once you think about it for awhile.

Right. This option does exist in Aces High already.  But it's "turned off" in the Main Arena because of the lowly things some people will do to WIN at a game.  I see new guys trying these tactics all the time, (because they don't realize yet the bullets bounce back, they assume some unseen enemy has killed them).   Not everybody has the character to not cheat.   In fact.  In my 51 years of experience, i'd say it's pretty rare to find someone who won't cheat to WIN.   And allowing "friendly" fire damage would bring out the worst in most people.

turning on friendly fire will attract plenty of a-holes to AH, constantly killing their teammates just to anger them.
for those of you who play other games that involve team play at some point, you know what i'm talking about.

my point is: friendly fire will cause some people to kill their teammates constantly, and the flood of people that would cancel their subscriptions because of it will cause HTC to lose money, and the loss of money might cause HTC to shut down a server or two (or something else) just to make up for the lost income.

to sum it up: NO!

however, the perk point deduction may deter some teamkillers, but not all of them.

I think you should get a killshot AND a perk hit.

I got it you don't like the idea.

But to say that by the act of fratracide that this is going to cause people to get mad :cry...then they would flock to the website in a fit of rage to cancle thier subscriptions...all while putting AH is such a financial crysis, that servers must be shut down....is just stupid. You sound like a democrate.

Problem being is that would happen. I believe the oh great Hitech has stated his mind on this matter.

Some time ago killshooter became disabled, this was back when I was in the 475th.

It was really ugly, but amusing for the first 45 minutes or so. I like the way it is now, even if I can't frag my squadmates at will. :devil

*cough* Mmm. Yes, well...may I recommend FireFox? You'll get less spyware and viruses while it fixes your spelling.

Anyway, he may be exaggerating, but if you've ever played a MMORPG with team kills, you know it's a bad, bad idea. The squeakfests in the former H2H rooms with K/S off were evidence enough.

A few years ago when I started playing Killshooter was accidentally turned off. I think it took less than a minute for dweebs to switch sides (and this is in the days where you were stuck there for 24hours) simply to shoot green.

Killshooter is there for a very very good reason.

Its not broke, don't try to fix it please!

Just learn to NOT shoot if there are friendlies  in the way.

If your getting nailed by kill shooter more than once a tour.

A you really need to work on your SA.
B You really need to work on your trigger control.
C you really need to work on not flying in a horde.
D all of the above.

Only time when I take kill shooter hits these days is when I'm in a Osti or WW and due to inadequate lead, hit the friendly trailing the con.... :P

Give it some time HighTone and you will appreciate as to why we have KS. I think having flown H2H without KS has made me see some ridiculous things. Best example I remember is a guy vulching his own country folk so as to be able to land 2 kills and get "his name in lights" :furious. He got rather mad when I didn't let him land his "kills" :devil :devil.

You want to shoot down a bud/squadie/countryman switch sides. Seems like pretty simple fix to me. Oh wait you want to up on his 6 and shoot him while he's still getting wheels up? That's just wrong. :frown:

Killshooter best thing HT added for me IMO as i pay more attention to when and how i shoot and also it's helped my SA. :aok
