Fitting in?
« on: May 25, 2008, 10:06:51 PM »
Ive been posting some threads, they aren't exactly full-proof but they certainly can't be very good with all the harassment i have been getting. I need your help. I posted threads about AIRCRAFT CARRIERS, HELICOPTERS, HAVING NEW AIRPLANES, and A SMALL DUMB FIRST THREAD... And i admit it too.  :cry Im not very good at the game but it came to my attention to have so many people be ***holes... I need to know most of the rules. The important ones. I dont need anymore idiots commenting my threads as retarded such as for the Wishlist: Title:BIGGEST WISH EVER??
and i put in that i wanted AHIII, some people agreed, some others didnt but they weren't ***holes like the others. :frown:
i WRITE STUPIDITY, NOT COMEDY. STUPIDITY = COMEDY.

Valerio, my I offer some advice, you are new to the game and therefore a student in the Aces High school of "lots of people with short fuses and trolls".
Since you have not been around as long as quite a few others here (I am not included..I'm a noob also), you may want to use the search feature and ask pertinent questions that do not sound like a 12 year old wining (even if you are a 12 year old).

The first step in being a student, is to listen to what the more experienced players are saying.

If all of your posts are getting flamed, you may want to think twice about what you are posting. Some ideas have been talked about for years, and people are seeking new and fresh ideas not another "B26 w/ Nook" thread. So before you post a new thread, take a moment and use the "search" feature, your life on the BBS will much more pleasant. I think you have figuered out that there is a community of history buffs here, so be carefull when stating historical facts, these guys don't mess around!

Read before you post your new and exciting idea, realize that what ever it is has probably been discussed a million times, and ask questions that are relevent or specific to the game.

I have read some of your posts and I commend you for thinking outside the box, but the game has some strict boundries as to what we will get added to it in the future, people have tried explaining that too you, and you haven't quite got it, so re-read those replys, you'll see what I am saying.

One of the great things about our community is the wide variety of people, some more pateint than others, so don't take the hostillity too serious. :salute

dude,
some of us tried to tell you in those threads you mentioned, that you need to READ. almost all the info you need to get started in on the website. what's not there, can be found, and learned, by going to the training arena, and politly asking for help. in the TA, almost everyone is willing to help you.

You'll just get bombarded with "search" stuff...
And yes, you should search and think before you post. And posting that smiley thread doesn't help your reputation much either...

Richard 'Dick' Bong was the highest scoring American ace of WWII, with 40 kills IIRC. P38 pilot, I think? He was killed in a P80 test flight crash in 1945.

On topic; THINK and LURK. Whenever I join a new forum, I usually post barely at all for the first month or so. Read everbody's posts, learn your way around the forum. I'm gonna look for that youtube video on the subject.

This is supposed to be humorous, but it's pretty correct.

I do apologize slightly for sounding like an arse in the smiley thread, but Valerio. That smiley thread goes above and beyond a 'stupid' thread. A thread like that can and will most likely get you banned from the forum. It makes people act like an arse towards you, and kills your reputation, as Spikes has already said. Most people were not agreeing with you in that thread, they were saying IN to get their post before it gets locked by Skuzzy.

The Helicopter thread of yours, Sure a helicopter would be nice in AH, but there are more important holes in the plane set to fill before we add helicopters. There isn't even a 'rescue' system in AH, which was the helicopter's Main and possibly only use. Insulting other members like you did in that thread is also another way to kill your reputation, be called a squeaker by others, and possibly be banned.

Warning! The above post may induce: nausea, confusion, headaches, explosive diarrhea, anger, vomiting, and whining. Also this post may not make any sense, or may lead to the hijack of the thread.

As others have said, think before you post.  Don't post on topics you aren't 100% sure about as someone else will be.

After that, 50% won't agree with you no matter what, so if you don't have a thick skin don't bother posting at all.  The other option is to post whatever you want and just have fun with it.

Some of us have been around for 10+ years and have seen every wish/whine/boast you can imagine.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

You got a persecution complex kid. Ive seen a lot of guys try and help you here despite the absurdity of some of your posts, and the difficulty of trying to understand exactly what you are saying.

I still give it 50/50 you are a shade account and are just pulling our legs.

If you aren't, and are actually somewhat legit, then I suggest backing off and getting to know people before you open your yap with this kinda nonsense. Your going to have to grow up eventually.

My advise, lurk on the boards and in game.  Get a feel for both, remember some  of the older players/members have been playing this type of game for 10+ years. So before you post that super duper all important wishlist item.... SEARCH. Most topics have been beaten to death.

Fitting in is the sort of thing that only happens if it's meant to. Just have fun playing the game.. If the conversations on the forum don't go your way, there's no use trying to MAKE others converse with you like you wish they did.  That's not how the world works.
And crying about it doesn't help either...  That's not an @#%hole comment, it's the truth.  It'd be nearer to being an @#%hole comment if it were misleading (e.g. "it's ok, keep making those threads").

And for future reference, you better consider the possibility that you're digging yourself a very deep hole, if all you can think of to make sense of people agreeing with you less than 100% is that they're @#%holes.

Not only are you obviously a kid, but you come off as very immature (random and inane exuberance) with your posts.. Not only are you going to get people to disagree with you, but also get in their face while doing it.. You have this below your posts:
"Top ten TERRORISTS:
George W. Bush 1,Osama Bin Ladin 2,George W. Bush 3,Osama Bin Ladin 4, George W. Bush 5,Osama Bin Ladin 6,George W. Bush 7,Osama Bin Ladin 8,George W. Bush 9,Osama Bin Ladin 10."

...  etc.  You're not about to be taken seriously, considering all that.

First off Valerio you need to understand this is a MAN's game. Its not aimed at 12 - 15 yr old boys. Average age is probably mid to high 30's. With many of us 20 years or more older than that. As was said above many of us have seen it all before time after time.

The only way you can get respect here, is to EARN it, slowly, carefully. And you do that by stepping up and acting more mature than you really are. Most of the younger players have all learned this lession already.
Look at wes14 for example, he's on the path. Think 3 times before you open your mouth once.

If in doubt, search.

If you need help, its out there available. However, first you need to be acting mature enough to get it.
This means following all the rules of the TA. If your causing problems in the TA your not likely going to get much help from the trainers.  So the attitude has to change first.

Pick any really good leading man from hollywood, and see how it does it.

Indiana Jones is a good example.

A Doesn't whine when things go bad, and he doesn't let it stop him.
B Does more than his share of the dirty work.
C Don't announce what your "going to do" as chances are something will go wrong. Be conservative!
D In fact don't announce anything. The game does it for you,  in landing kills or taking fields.
E Listens to everything everyone has to say, THINKS about it. Then decides what he's going to do with a minimum of fuss. And he goes out and DOES it, then and only then does he stop to bask in the glory a bit.

So start out "playing the part" of a man, pick a good man, a solid well respected one as a guide.
Eventually you will find that you are no longer playing the part. That you have in fact become a man.
And there is so much more to being a man than that which swings in his pants. That in fact is the least of it all.

So give that a try, give reading some of those web sitghts another try.
Come give the TA another try with a different attitude.

Expect that it will take time, Aces High is a journey, one that may last you for many many years.
Many of us have been here since 99, or 2000 and we are still learning. So be patient, be conservative, be polite, be here for the long haul. Or be another flash in the pan thats here today and gone tomorrow.

look at it from another view as well sometimes alot of energy gets poured in to a new player and then poof two week trial ends  try going through that X75 and people become  callous kind of like RAF was with replacement pilots make sence??
