It's not just with m4's, I have bounced many 88mm rounds off m8's before.

That's just wrong. M8 has, at most, 3/4" armor. :huh  Even HE from an 88 should do the job quite nicely.

The Sherman in Aces High is not the standard issue Sherman that most of the Allies used. The Firefly variant is an up gunned version. People were crying for a Sherman in the game  and had they got the standard version, nobody would have used it.
