Some hospital equipment was alarming making a beeping noise. The elderly lady in the next bed asked to nobody in particular something to the effect of "Why are they playing victory in europe?" It took me awhile to make the connection. When the nazis surrendered allied radio operators transmitted a mimicry of the opening notes of Beethoven's fifth.  :)
