Another Hamfist Night Shot.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

My dad was in VA-65 the same time this picture was taken, Hamfist and him were on the same Med cruise 72/73 during the Yom Kippur war.

Christmas 1970.

Hamfist, Crete 1972.

Had these photos on my HD for a while, waiting for a thread like this :). <S> Hamfist, wherever you are!

Other than on pedestals by airports I have never seen an F4 in person...

Going back to childhood it was the first, only, and COOLEST model I ever made. painted dark blue top for ocean camo, light blue / gray bottom. Of course I played with it and it broke to crap, but it was the coolest jet plane I ever knew.

It's still my favorite plane as in looks except the Dora, and Blackbird, they all about equal.

What I'd give to see one live, ramp up, hit the afterburners and take off like a shot!

An interesting fact I learned about the F-16 from a guy that worked both the F-4 and the F-16 was that the F-16 at idle moved more air through the intake than the F-4 did in afterburner! The F-16 requires about a minimum 20 foot clearance during idle runs in the run station.
