He is a mental case that scorepotato's and thinks because so, "he's better than anyone else".

In that case I will enjoy adding him to the "guys I love to beat in the monthly rankings" contest.  Tripl5 is already on that list.

Right.  AH = best pool to survey time well spent lives well lived.

BBS = best pool of those to diagnose and proscribe.

Point taken.

I have to confess: The guy did get under my skin, and I let him annoy me when I should have just ignored him. There are excuses (pretty tired at the end of a long day, frustrating evening, etc) but in all honesty I DID post to needle him a little, even though I didn't actually name him. In the end I have to take responsibility for deliberately shining the light of public scrutiny on him when my motives weren't the best.

Not my proudest moment, whether he deserved it or not.

(Though with equal and hopefully objective honesty, it seems to me that you'd be pretty hard pressed to support the idea that 13 hours a day on a computer game is healthy in any conceivable way.)

I think I might jump in on this thread.

Some people that play this game are retired, disabled, and various other sorts of things.  Me for one, I had a life threatening sickness last year that left me so week that all I could do was basically sit.  This game was a life saver for me since I don't watch TV.

I like many others have grown kids that do not need my regular attention, and my wife for one, is just happy for me to be alive, so seeing me sit and do anything makes her happy.  This is one reason why I log so many hours.

I know this thread was not about me, but when looking at the hours some people play, it may not be just an addiction, there may be many other factors as to why they spend so much time on-line.

Just putting out some thoughts.

Absolutely true, bmw.

I firmly believe that everybody's got a right to play the way they enjoy. Hording to capture, furballing, clever land grabbing, bombing, whatever -- it's all good, and if something seems to annoy you its best to just go somewhere else. And if folks have the time to play for long hours, that's perfectly OK too.

I think what attracts attention to some heavy volume players is that those few convince themselves that they are especially skilled even though their stats are largely the product of total time spent or timid flight style.

I'll add that, being divorced and living alone single, I don't watch a lot of TV either (except for football, auto racing and quite a few movies) so AH is where I am with the rest of my free time (60-100 hours/mo.).  Being a single income household makes it hard for me to get out much.

The original purpose of the thread has been "looked over".    The bottom line is this, you had someone who is Ranked 9th in Fighters.   They aren't worthy of it, they know it and critcized two people of having a "crappy hit %" while his very own, is "just as crappy".    When "confronted" by "two mediocre" folks for a stroll to the DA, he chickened out.

The amount of time played is merely the icing on the cake for who this thread is about.

LOL Rumble.   Rumble is correct.    okllok and I go back, I never even talked to the moron a couple years ago when this all started.   He is a mental case that scorepotato's and thinks because so, "he's better than anyone else".   He'll run his mouth and when asked to go to the DA, every excuse will begin to surface.

Now mind you last night did not let anyone down on Country channel.  "I'm Russian!!!"   Like that has ANY bearing on a DA when Simaril challenged him after okllok stated "you'd lose honey."    Simaril or MOST for that matter could pounce this cherry picker in the DA.   I've also seen him at times, shadowing me to get kills as I moved in on them.

The funny part is him ripping on both Sim's and my Hit %.    His isn't any better and he relies on Late War rides.   I use Mid War rides for the most part and getting kills isn't as easy.   He's just wrapped up in himself thinking he's better than anyone else.   Heck, it is fun prodding him until he spews "afk" because he ran out of material.

Simaril, it would have been fun watching you wipe the floor in the DA with his arse.

lol agreed, looking at his extended stats and the planes he fly tells it's own tale. It's 40% kills with 190d hit and run style. I've got a better "rank" than him sure but I spend about 50/50 of my time in DA. I only have like 10 hours in MA this month.. if I see him coming into a furball I pretty much count him out, only thing he's gonna do is come down and steal a worked out kill... Haven't seen the sight of him over tanktown, unless he's chasing after buffs (easy targets for high flying german planes...).

Of course people can play the way they want, and I can have my opinion on how people play. Especially if they open their mouths and don't back it up. I haven't seen this guy in DA once.
He doesn't have a mic from what I've seen, but I'd imagine he'd be spewing out jibberish of 1's and 0's cause he flies like a one dimensional bot. I'm actually on the same country as him, so it's no a Ooohh he shot me down kind of gig either.

Rooks Don't have it any better, prime example is today while flying a 109f I scored few hits on a spit16 which i was dogfighting alone,
after 2 minutes twist and turning, some guy comes in hoin my spit16 down, and wondered why I chased him down spraying with 8mm's

But yeah Time2Die pulled same crap today, flying a tempest came down from 15k to pick someone, got 2 on him and ran to field ack, 3 sectors away. Hey you pay your 15 bucks to fly how you want, im not gona care really - ill offer to take ya to TA and teach some ACM.
Some take the offer some don't, im not trying to be a sweetheart about it just offering help cause some people really dont know ACM and never learned. Some seriously take this as an insult, but think of the timid flying, you think your that good anyway?

I must admit I have played long sessions and i usually work them into a day off from work , today I have probably 8.5 hours , I play the game check other guys/girls 6's and try to be a considerate player , But as Baldeagl had stated I'm a bachelor and its easier to play this game than go clubbing or drinking . And I also believe its a persons right to play long hours if they wish and play how they want , it is open to everyone who pays there monthly dues to do so . I learn what I can when I can and there is a whole bunch of nice folks who offer their time and energy to help . So in essence I'd like to say thanks to all of you who do help. But mostly enjoy have fun and fly its our common interest .
                                                                     thanks Nutte :)
Don't be afraid to put it out there , if it gets cut off it'll grow back

Nor should the BB.

I don't need to give names but there were some funny ones brought up when the BB finally came back up in another thread. Is there an award for them?

If you leave Opera open, the tabs with BB threads refresh themselves on their own, for some reason.  If you happen to have your pc on 24/7 (e.g. SETI or 3D renders, etc), that means an  amount of BB hours logged.

I think I might jump in on this thread.

Some people that play this game are retired, disabled, and various other sorts of things.

I was dropped about 30 feet at work.  Smashed my right leg, hip, and pelvis.  Not broken, shattered/smashed.  I'm somewhat new to AH2, but it isnt my first WW2 online flight sim, but honestly...  When we talk about things that are really important, who cares when I played my first online flight sim?

As far as I am concerned is that the game (and it really is a game), gives "some" feel of the reality.

I play to pass the time and entertain myself, anything more serious is a laughable joke
