M-16
« on: June 07, 2008, 05:33:47 PM »
Anyone still up an M16 for base defense?? I upped one yesterday and sat outside of town were the knights had a CV offshore and there was a big low alt furball going on right above me. I didn't think I was going to get any kills or hits but I managed to down 5 fighters myself and I got about 4 assists. Those 4 .50cal can do some damage and I find it easier than the WW.

Question is does anyone still use the M16 and whats your thoughts about it?

I like the M-16. It's not very squirrely, and it's fast.  But the views in it aren't great, even after having paged up.

I've never liked the M-16.  I can't hit squat with it, even coming straight at me, whereas in an Osti or Wirble I can hit crosing shots at 1000 yards.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

M16's only good when escorting M3's, IMHO. Otherwise you're really vulnerable.

the wirbleterd has more or less made the M16 obsolete, considering its utterly and totally superior in every aspect except speed.

i still prefer it to the Osteoporosis though..

on the oppossing side, I hate the wirble.. hate it like poisen..

I used the Wirbley for the first time for base defense yesterday. IMO, what an easy way to defend a base. I didn't find it challenging enough, so Osties & M16's are my choice.

The M-16 has the problem of instability. It's like a PT boat; if you fire broadside, it leans and you have to compensate. I'm guessing that's what most people dislike about it.

I've always preferred the M-16 because I could shoot better with it, it has a better field of view and it's fast. Since the WW came out, I'll have to admit I usually opt for that as I seem to shoot as well or better with it and it has the advantage of being a harder target than the M-16.

About the only time I use the M-16 now is if I have to get somewhere fast.

A few weeks ago I went to a v- base because it was flashing. From the tower I could see what appeared to be troops heading for the map room. I figured the base capture was pretty much a done deal as the troops were within 100 yards of the map room.

In desperation, I grabbed an M-16, raced out there and actually managed to get there in time to kill all the troops. Got the added bonus, as I swung around, to see the c47 sitting there on the ground maybe a couple hundred yards from me and blasted it.

Couldn't of made it there in time with any of the other anti- aircraft guns.
