USB drivers, MB connection and ch stick issues

I noticed my USB drivers are dated back to 2001. Is that the last update for those?

On my Mainboard I have an 8 pin connector by the CPU. However, the power supply I used only had 4. Now I was told that it would work with a 4 pin connector and it seems to. What I was curious about does that affect the USB ports? Another thought along those lines is can I safely increase the voltage to the USB ports? I have a Abit Pro IP35 MB.

I can switch power supplies and put in an 8 pin connector.

Here's the issue at hand. Last night I calibrated my new ch equipment to death. I never did get it to calibrate correctly for very long. Now the trim wheels are centered and I have calibrated at desktop and in the game. I have also turned off the usb power energy saver features. The power management is set on desktop. Also the ch stick, throttle, and pedals are plugged into a powered usb hub.

I just truly believe the issue is with my computer or some software on the computer.

Would appreciate any feedback I can get.

Are you losing the calibration in BOTH windows and the game, or just the game? If its just the game, check to see if the settings file for your stick and stuff is set to read only.

Do you have an option in th BIOs to select USB configuration?  Mine did (EVGA mobo) for USB1, USB2 or USB1 and USB2.  For some reason the default was USB1.

Fugitive, thanks for the advice, I will check that. Mostly in is in the game. Also, it reminded me of something. Skuzzy once told me to delete the settings file and then recalibrate. That, I think, removes my old joystick settings.

I'm having the same issue, but just with my rudder peds.  Full CH gear - no problems with joystick or throttle, just the rudder peds keep de-calibrating.  I just got a powered USB hub, but it hasn't really helped (although I've only had it for one day).  My problem is with both AH and Windows.

When I push either left or right, sometimes it works great, sometimes the on-screen calibration bar is sluggish and might not always go to the end of the spectrum.  Then when I center the peds, the bar doesn't always return to center.

I've had times when I've flown for over an hour with them rock-solid, and then other times I have to recalibrate while in flight every 5 minutes.  Sometimes it helps to just stomp the peds left and right once or twice to get it back for a while.  I've got a couple of things to try, but might have to resort to contacting CH for further help, since it's not just a problem with AH.
