Guess I am lucky, I have never been around this guy, or even seen him.

You don't realize how lucky you are. 

The first time I bumped into him was when I was flying bish.  He had jumped countries with a few of his buddies.  He forgot to change his vox channel I had the pleasure of hearing him teach them how to "improve rank" and capture undefended fields.  This is "very important for a good score". 

I get on with most people but some people are unbearable and unreasonable and deserve to be moderated.

Well its guys like Tripl5 that are most annoying when it comes to arm chair generals, prime example few years back I first ran into
this guy, I took command of a CV attempting to take a V-base. Behold the rank general decided he wanted to attack an airfield alone-

I asked him if me and my squad can take command of the CV and we were interested in taking the V-base, he comes back whining he's
got a better rank blah blah I need to get a better rank.

Simply put I switch sides and sank his CV. Lack of respect for his own country mates I can see why nobody wants to wing/squad up with these guys. However not much you can do when people act this way, just gives me a lack of respect for them and their squad, I say squad too because his squad mate was on and didn't bother to do anything but agree "get a better rank".

if its a game how come you have rankings? why even have base captures or even have squads. you lone wolf selfish pilots are screwing up the concept of this game. win a war and be good at it! ive seen too many people cheating to get ahead. then why cheat if its just a game. why have squads? why have bases? make it all a dueling arena? if you want to furball there is a place to do it. the arenas is for fighting a war and winning it.

baseball is a game. they have rankings.

Maybe he did say it but it's not entirely true is it. Aerial combat would not need Tanks, bombers, targets to destroy or map rooms to be taken, (they are in the hundreds BTW).

Aerial combat only needs a few bases for pilots to take off from (maybe 24 )and a plane set that would not need attack or fighter choices to choose from.

It's a war game.

For the majority of the people here, it's about strategy, base capture and attacking or defending bases using aerial combat.

Vandals, maybe you should try not to get so frustrated....especially at this time of year when the kids are all out of school and playing Aerial combat.

Relax bud , find some adults to play with and remember....it's just a game

This is a false assumption.


The game was designed to have fun at different types of combat. Conquering bases is just a means to promote combat and hence fun. But by no means is it more or less justified than going out and just mixing it up.

I ran into this guy one day as I was driving an Osti to a strat factory.  He flew over in buffs just as I started killing toolsheds.  The ack was firing at him and he kept screaming on vox for me to shoot the ack so he wouldn't get shot down while he bombed the strat.

I got a phone call and turned the volume off on my speakers and just kept firing at toolsheds talking on the phone.  Then I get several PM's about how stupid I am and how smart he is.

What an idiot!  Another time from him like that will be a report.

Serious advice vandals: Lighten up... Things in aces high don't always conform to an individuals ideals or desires, much like in the RW. If you like taking bases, make missions and fly with a group that share similar goals. There will always be idiots that "game the game" and/or cheat in one form or another, but they are a small and miserable minority within this community IMHO.

If a player likes to furball and has $15.00, that player will find a furball and have fun. Same goes for the base capture crowd, GVers, Toolshredders and the rest.

Bottom line vandals... You get what you give! Give hateful profane rants and you will reap results in kind. Treat other players with respect and you will gain the respect of other players. You probably knew this already, but given the tone of this thread, I thought that a little thoughtful advice might prove beneficial.

valdals, I've never known you at all, but if I were to judge you by the original post of yours in this thread, I would say that you're immature, and probably some other psychological terms which I can't be bothered to mention or don't know about (probably the latter, actually).  However, I find it unlikely that you actually are this way.

If you're finding yourself getting this wound up over a game, I have one very simple piece of advice for you: take a break, stay away from the computer (or at least the BBS and Aces High) for a day or two, then reconsider what you think of this game, and of losing your VOX.  In the meantime, I'd recommend going out and getting some exercise.

This is what I do whenever I begin to feel this way.

Also, I agree with almost everything MajIssue just said.
