I am running XP home on my system. I've been running it for the last 4 years with out refomating it. But I am running into kproblems that is making me want to reformate and reload XP.
Lately, when I try to download or update my programs, I get this error:
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the windows installor is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.
Seems that the installer somehow got corrupted. I have been able to install a few other programs. But it is a hit or miss. I guess my support peronnel has to be here because I cann't think of who they are talking about.
Also, last year I updated IE and I get the Customize Your Settings page on startup. But when I've tried to customize, it will not take my settings. So for almost a year this page keeps on coming up and I can not get rid of it!
