my 10 second fights
« on: June 18, 2008, 02:36:46 PM »
.....will become 2 second fights. So come out and get your easy kill. I mean easier since I am always an easy kill.

I am trying out a new stick this evening, that a friend of mine is letting me use.

It is a saitek st290. Not really liking it at this time. Not a a big fan of the position of the hat and the lack of buttons. It is quite the change though from my logitech extreme 3D pro.
Haxxor has returned!!!!

AF827 = former ST290 faithful user.

That ST290 was my best stick for as long as I can remember 'till I got the X52.  You'll get used to it, it's a good stick.  Nice, stiff spring, makes for a bit more accurate flying.  GL with the stick :rock

I also had a ST290 until I got my x52. Very nice stick. My only problem was it got stiffer on the controls the longer i had it.

I love my ST 290 pro and its true it does get more stiff as you use it , and a very very small amount of graphite will fix it , but its comfortable and cozy to me so its my current fave . :D :D
Don't be afraid to put it out there , if it gets cut off it'll grow back
On your mark , Get set , go away !

my saitek x-52 lasted 6 months., my st 290 is on its second yr. Im a believer in the $20.00 stick, as I have been thru about 5 in 5-6 yrs. If I hadnt bought the x-52, i would have been able to buy about 10-15 more st 290's, which should take me into my final days  hehe. :aok

At first I had a ST290 Pro, then I got a full set of X52, throttle and rudder pedal. However, I just couldn't get use to it, the X52 is too sensitive, and I'm used to have both my hands on my stick rather then throttle and stick. So I ebayed em all for 100$ and took out my out my ST290 Pro again, and still rocking w/ it =)

To solve this problem you could have tried scaling your stick.  I thought the same thing when i first bought my x-52, scaling fixed it.  The problem with the x52 is the rudder pot.  It is the first thing to get, position sensors seem to hold up well (pitch and roll).  My rudder pot went out at 1 year, now I have ch pedals.  Im slowing going to go to all ch products.
