Chess experts: what the hell happened?

I know some things about chess but I am by no means an expert.  This is apparently some tie breaker game in the 2008 US Woman's Chess Championship.  As you can tell by the video it starts off failry orderly but then quickly boils down to a quick flurry and the obvious emotional outburst by one of the girls.  Ok, what the hell happened?

Looked like it all happened after the one in the glasses rooked to early then lost her Queen and temper.

Was brutal and fast.
