ENY
« on: June 18, 2008, 10:19:25 PM »
OK been noticing a problem with the ENY here lately and it is leading toward one of the reason we had the arena plit and ENY. Here lately been having alot of situtations were two countries outnumber the third and the two with the most numbers team upo against the the least numbered team and not take an ENY hit. I know tonight the KNights and Rooks outnumbered the Bish by at least 20 players and had no ENY limits. If the Arena Split and ENY was done to prevent this should the two sides who outnumber the thrid both get with ENY and not get such a heavy restriction because two teams are closely numbered.

Do have pics but for whatever reason cant get them to post on here

A side note:
20 out of how many? ENY is calculated on relative numbers. 20 players can be 50% or 5% depending on total arena population.
Many players do only look at the absolute difference without taking that into account, thus resulting in complaints like "Yesterday bish had 10 players more and no ENY, today we have 10 players more and ENY 5!"

Wow, this is a new one. I don't think anyone has ever complained that ENY doesn't affect the other countries the same way it affects the <insert country name>.

look at the %'s

On top of it being %'s, Eny only counts for planes in flight. A country could have 100(say 50%) more players, but if they are all in the tower it won't effect ENY.

Wrong. ENY doesn't care about "inflight".

To answer the questions of the 20 players. Both sides Knit and rooks in late war orange had 20+ players more than Bish. This is far from a whine. Just been noticing alot lately that when 2 countries outnumber the third but are within a a close distance to each other ENY doesnt seem to take effect. I have seen all three sides take a hit where they were outnumbered getting gang banged by both sides and just struggling to hold onto what terrain they had.

Like I said this is not a whine but an observation for debate and discussions. I could care less if I wake up and find the Bish got there butts handed to them. I fly Bish and take the game serious when I am flying to a point but if one side wins or loses when I am not there not going to worry about not like there is anything I can do about it anyways.

Because ENY limits is only computed per country, on an individual base. It's basically your country # / lowest country #'s. The limiter won't and can't account for the overall tactical situation, that his who is "ganginng" who.

More times than not, the senerio you discribed doesn't happen. Most of the time the country with the fewest players get ganged by the two counties with the higher numbers. Besides it's a war game and war isn't far. You have options, switch sides, switch arenas, log off. There will never be a perfect side balancing idea. Only way all sides will be perfectly balanced is if the community makes it happen. Since that will never happen, HT put in ENY, like it or not.

Dont have a problem with the ENY and understand it. Me I dont care if I am outnumbered. I gt a bigger thrill from shooting someone down when I am outnumbered. Hurts the other guys ego. Just been noticing it and was wondering what everyone else thought. For me like you said SFCHONDO The onyl way to balance sides if the comminuty would do it and there are to many people who want to be on the winning side and will switch sides to be on that side to get those ever previous few points for winning that you get
