fix the plane collision problem.
« on: June 19, 2008, 08:13:19 AM »
if two planes ram each other both should go down not just one. i was flying above a single lancaster that was trying to escape. i was out of ammo. i was flying on top of him trying to get him to drop to the deck. instead he climbed and rammed me. i died and he flew back to base without any damage. i was in a p47. :furious

Seems to me you got hit in a VW bug by a semi truck and expected to come out the winner. P47 is big and tough but bombers are bigger and a lot of them are tougher.

If you were out of ammo i'd have got the heck away from him so he couldn't do the very thing he did to you. Not much point in being around an enemy con with no ammo.

Next time get away from him or take your plane and bounce it off of his wing tip. Break his wing tip and you've got a good chance of downing him if he's inexperienced. Just a thought.

in real lief it IS possible for one to survive a mid-air. if it's a small fighter vs a lanc....it's possible........if you were out of ammo, you should've left him alone. just like 95% of all real life aviation accidents, yours was PILOT ERROR. :D
you didn't need to stay there, but chose to.

Well, here's another topic that I've never seen before.

The only problem with the collision model, is that most people can't understand how it works.

i'm one of the ones who can't...so when i fly, i just stay far enough away that it can't happen.

Valdals collision model goes by whyat happens on two seperate screens. I have seen if where I guy rammed me and I lived and I was sitting there in the cockpit going, "He never touched me" The collision model is far from perfect but at least they are trying.

Last but not least just got to ask anythign else you would like to whine  :furious about. Since I am on leave it is nice to hear a"pilot"  :cry till I get back to work and hear them do it for real over stupid crap.

This was the topic that made Pyro change his icon to that painting, "The Scream"

Valdals, this issue has been explained so many times that it's induced near catatonic gibbering among many. The horse is not only dead, but it's been reduced to constituent cells...and the cells have all ruptured, the organelles are destroyed, and the molecules have been broken down to individual atoms.

In other words, Hub is right. I'd suggest you try that old "search" button and find any one of the half million or so threads on the subject of collisions. Look for Bronk's posts with the big pictures -- they do a nice job of showing why things have to be done the way they are.

THe short answer is run into other planes, and don't get close enough to other planes that they can hit YOU. In other words, fly more like a real pilot who's survival depends on his plane! That one change will stop 99% of all collisions.

Went to the DA with a friend and shot film.

Now for all you people who want both to take damage .

Tell me why tangle should take any after looking at from his side.

Films best looked at from external .

Tangle's perspective.

http://www.speedyshare.com/505573530.html

My perspective.

http://www.speedyshare.com/193779581.html.

Basically from his view he gets "bronk has collieded with you.".  You then see me take damage in mid air.

My side you see me fly into his ac and take damage.

I submit this as proof collision model works as intended.

You may all now continue with whine.

Thank you for your time.

Bronk

Found Bronk's post. Can I have a cookie now?  :D
Warning! The above post may induce: nausea, confusion, headaches, explosive diarrhea, anger, vomiting, and whining. Also this post may not make any sense, or may lead to the hijack of the thread.

Ahh, the films this time, instead of just the pictures? Cool.
