Im on a lower roof on a house painting the body of a house. On top there is dental trim running along the top and a gap between the siding and the trim.
Soooo
Im running the brush under the trim when suddenly I hear what I can best discribe as what sounds like a locust behind the trim. Only the chirping is lower in tone and sounds like its in slow motion..
Thinking Its a bit early for locusts But who knows.
I must have got some paint on him and thats what it sounds wierd.
So I keep painting and I can hear it chirping and moving behind the trim and ahead of my brush as Im going along.
I barely see something. I dont know what along the bottom of the gap to the next window and above the shutter. chirping away the whole time
So me being the curious type says to myself.
"WTF kind of weird bug is this? Im going to start going from the other direction and see if I cant flush him out enought to see it.
So thats exactly what I did.
Again "chirp chirp chip" then suddenly I find myself Saying
"OH CHIT!" and ducking to avoid this thing comming at me. Mouth wide open
Cept for the angle it looked just like this

Sumbish damn near gave me a heart attack as it flew right at me. mouth open then suddenly turned and flew away.
and I'm left standing there listening to my heart beat.
Isnt the first time I've encountered bats. but it is the first time I've heard them make noise.
Couple of years ago I had one in a similar situation fly out and land right on my neck.
Talk about your freak me out moments as I flung him off.
In hindisght it wasnt an altogether unpleasent feeling. It just startled the watermelon outa me.
If you've ever held a puppies soft ear to your face. Thats exactly what it felt like.
Warm and very soft and velvity
But all in all I'd still rather have the puppies ear
