Worst Character in a movie
« on: June 20, 2008, 11:08:44 AM »
What, or who was the worst idea for a character in a movie.  Not necessarily the worst actor, or acted, but a character who detracted from the movie.  The first one who comes to mind is Jar Jar Binks, as crappy as the latest 3 Star Wars movies were, what the hell!?!?!

I think Kevin Costner stinks as an actor...especially when he trys to play a hard guy.

Depends on the role. He was REALLY good in Silverado and Wyatt Earp.

My vote is for Beowulf. Because they COMPLETELY RUINED THE CHARACTER.

Slipknot, agreed.  You have the right idea.  Remember, not the worst actor, rather a character in a movie they could have cut out of the script and made the movie better.  On a side note, agreed on Kevin Costner, he has had some good roles, but overall I find him underwelming as an actor.

Yeah, Jar jar is cringe worthy. Ewoks as bad in a "character type" sense. WTG lucas merchandise marketing!

Hard to think of just a single bad character in what was otherwise at least an OK movie. Larry King in the Shrek series as the ugly chick. He did an alright job for what it was, I just have a knee jerk reaction to larry king that taints the role.

AND

Starship Troopers

Again, more powerful than Viagra, but Starship pilot? (then again, add a mullet and it might be SHawk)

Richards is forgiveable simply on the grounds that she always ends up dressed in something very skimpy, at which point you completely forget about acting ability and just sit back to drool.
