It's really nothing more then someone I suspect may be fiddling with cables to intentionally warp.  I sent HTC a fairly long clip of the occurence, I'll let them decide if it is really anything hinky, or just a guy having a poor connection.

well, on that note......if it happens when you get close to them.....remember that their system may be almost overloaded...then when you get near, and fire, it DOES get overloaded, and stutters. this seems to happen often with peeps running a lot of junk in the backround.

with some individuals i begin to wonder if they run a ton of junk just for this purpose.

i know sounds dumb, but think of it.

if you knew that by running program X while playing that you would have a couple of side effects says pauses or flickers but that you would also have the benefit of a second or so in lag time so you were never where the other guy sees you and that if he got close and pulled the trigger you would blip around erratically completely spoiling his shot.

some people are just that kind of scummy. look at the guys who go pork early war arenas or midnight late war arenas just to jack up their score, or the scum sandwiches that run multiple shadow accounts so they spy or vulch themselves or do whatever kind of perverse thing people in cartoon land do with imaginary replicas of themselves.

any ways my point is that sometimes its just too convenient and its always the same people.

just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean their not following me!!!!!!!!!!  :O

You could be right to an extent Flotsom, but speaking for myself, I have a pretty high speed set up but my son uses his laptop. He drives me up the wall with his warping. I was told by some techies I know that I need to install a faster hard drive in it. His runs at about the standard 2500 or so RPMs,but for true quality I need to get him something that runs minimum 5000. It's about a hundred or so to fix that. So if some of these guys are running older systems and have alot of crap in the background they are probably as frustrated flying like that as we are watching it. I've tried to fly his warpy set-up and it's not fun.

I'm not sure about this, check with skuzzy, but i think if you allow aces high to preload into memory everything that it can it will be forced to access your hd less often. keeping down the total memory you load into your ram by shutting of other planes skins and only keeping the default ones in your profile (i.e. turn off the automatic skin downloads in the hanger) should help as well. the more it can load into ram the less it has to go hunt for. as well as defragging the hd 2 or 3 times in a row. there is a program i found called defraggeler. it allows you to see the fragmented files by name and defrag those files instead of the windows based defrag which seams to take forever this one is much faster.

also use a good ram cleaner or memory recovery tool casheman or instantmemorycleaner are the 2 that i like out of the dozen i tried. they clean and defrag your ram after you boot up or on command.

these are all free downloads, might be worth trying before you spend money to fix it.

well good luck

Dave there was a thread response to something like this a few weeks ago. I think Dale himself wrote it, but he basically said that at the speed everything transmits at there is no humanly possible way to "make" yourself warp in and out of situations. The lag time between each individuals computers and the tie to the server does not allow it. Basically the guy who was warping has a crap connection and or computer.

Dale gave a more scientific explanation of the same allegations, but I can't remember where the thread is.

Hope this helps.

I wish HTC would issue a statement of similar substance regarding frigging collisions.

I'm tired of idiots pissing and moaning about how X rammed Y... It is not possible to accurately guage your position on the other player's FE and thus it is impossible to force a collision in which the ramming player recieves no damage.

 :furious

Collisions happen... if it happens on your end and thus you take damage, deal with it or take your toy and play somewhere else.

Its been post hundreds of times. Some people just don't want to understand it, they would rather just complain about it.

i would normally trhink that too......but the thing is, that when they warp, you and everyoe else near them appears to warp to them. it would make it much harder for them to avoid you.  i think

Not neccessarily, if my understanding of how things work is accurate...  But, I really don't think the discussion is appropriate here.
