One winged wonder...again
« on: December 19, 1999, 01:00:00 AM »
This is probably old, but I am interested in explanations.

Today I met 25k P 51D. I avoided HO and zoomed up. He pulled sharply after HO attempt and then it was my E against his. We spiraled down, all the eway to the deck. All was smooth, no warps, beacon was green whole that day. Eventually we ended on the deck, and he was recieving pings, while doing some brave evasives.

After quite a few pings, I took his whole wing off, and saw his plane was on fire. Well, then incredible things started happening. He paused in mid air, then warped forward and backwards, then it seemed he was going down etc. At one moment he vanished and I expected the kill. Nothing. Checking my 6, I notice the same plane d40+ behind me, trying to ditch. Not this time, Mr Pony. I approached to vulch him, but he dissapeared again. I turned home, and saw him again on my 6, again some d35-40 distance. This time I didn't bother to return, however.

Connection on my end was smooth, and so was he, until he lost wing. My connex was ok after the fight, since I was bounced by high 109, no warps, nothing.

Were his warps/discos intentional ? Is it my FE ? Your thoughts, please.

From pyro in "news" post:
"We've received word that UUNET is and Savvis will be doing major upgrades to their systems. This may have an adverse effect on your connectivity to us until the changes are complete, after which, things should be improved. These changes are scheduled to be be completed by 12/21"

I saw a lot of warps tonight too. Hopefully that is what it is.
