well, usually, when all the hangars are down on a base, a mission/furball/cv/vulchfest is there or one is coming.
In that case, yes, I do risk sitting on the rearm once in a while.

Changing gun packages or ord loadouts would be far more time consuming than most think.  So no.  Leave it as is.

However.... I do think that if one ups with %50 fuel for base defense and they get the job done and land to refuel, they should be able to fill the tank up (but not add drop tanks, that takes much more prep time than just filling the tanks).

a... and since we're on the subject: ... if one were to look at the "realism" aspect of it, very rarely did ANY plane ever take off with less than %100 fuel in WWII.  It just didnt happen.  I am surpirsed that AH2 even allows less than %75.  I know for a fact that my G'pa never took off in his B24 (PTO Oct-42/Dec-44) without max fuel.  Too easy to veer off course or over shoot the airbases due to cloud cover or bad weather so the extra fuel was always a safeguard.  Even when he ferried bombers from San Fran to Hawaii they always had %100. Now, with all that said I am not advocating for mandatory %100 fuel, but taking a Lanc, B17, or B24 with %25 fuel on a bombing run is about as far away from sim country as one can get.  I am vouching for a minimum of %50 with me leaning leaning towards %75.  Or.... restrict the hvy and med bombers from the light airfields.  That will throw a monkey wrench into the plans of the "maxordload%25fuelditchafterdropord" crowd.

Take bombs with you from the hangar, ditch them as you take off...
If you need bombs later and you don't wish to (or cannot) land and reup, just hit the pad and you're golden :aok
Changing a gun package is a major refit, not possible on  a rearm pad.

you get a hit on your score when you ditch your bombs. i am for the new rearm set up where you can choose from the rearm pad. it help if you take off from a field when the ord is down and when it comes up you can rearm without ending sortie and reupping.

ditching bombs on the runway is more unrealistic than GETTING A LITTLE MORE FUEL WHEN YOU RE ARM!

So you just fended off an attack with ur one can of fuel... now you want to go meet them halfway when they try again. if only you could tell they guy puttting gas in your plane to fill it up all the way instead of being stuck with one can.... maybe you want some bombs too this time....

I think it's reasonable to have the ability to re-fit planes on re-arm pad.

I agree 100% with the fuel... but not the ord...

I have one question though...

On the re-arm pad are we payin for gas at the current rate, or as it was in WWII... cause if it's current... I know my planes gonna be gettin alot of those... 'uh... well... give me half a tank' fill up's  :aok
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
