HiTech: I killed three planes in Zero: 2,27 PerkPoints ?
« on: January 23, 2001, 12:35:00 PM »
First kill RookXXX in C-Hog (Well CV's ack killed him...)
Second Kill RookYYY in TBM
Third Kill RookZZZ in D-Hog
(Checked their rides from score-board)

After battle I run out of fuel and I had to glide to the A-40 and landed succesfull to the runway.
Even system told me my landing was succesfull

So 2,27 Points?
Guess it was 1 per Hog and 0,27 from TBM ???

Hey, don't feel bad, I took a lone Lancaster to HQ, put all but 1 bomb on the target, took 50% of the radar down, successfully landed, jumped into the hangar for my 'medicinal' shot of brandy and the score showed 1.27 perk points....for risking life and limb, for taking out 50% of one of the toughest targets enroute...all for naught.

Me thinks perk points should be alittle more about % of target hit rather than structure destroyed, as it is now, no incentive to hit HQ unless you actually have the 1 bomb that adds up to 30,000 lbs. that destroys it.

I had one sortie in a Spitfire MkV - bagged a Hog (C model) and put a few rounds into a VH before rtb and safe landing.

Total: 4.81 points (which I've never equaled, even after shooting down 2-3 bandits, including Hogs, and landing safely)

Confusing, or what?

Cheers

Later I took up in a Niki;
One B-17, F4U-? and some third plane.
Landed that Niki without left wingtip and got 3,43 points...

I guess the Zeke is such a popular aircraft that you don't get much points for flying and killing in it.

I believe the amount a type is flown is essential in the perk system - not the flight performance a plane has.  This is to encourage the use of less flown types?  And Zeke definately is not a less flown type in AH.

Last night I shot down 2 chogs in a G2 and landed right after the last kill. I got 1.74 points. I was expecting more like 6-8. Several people were experiencing problems with their connections last night. I wonder if that can screw with the points. I know my connection went down the tube last night so I loged.

I just checked the arena values right now.  They should probably be close to the values when you were flying (I beleave they change daily based on popularity).

Perk points = your plane ENY value / enemy plane's ENY value.

C-hog ENY = 10
TBM = 40
D-hog = 28
Zero's = 30

C-hog......nothing.  The Acks got it, not you.  You don't get squat for assists.  Perk points for the TBM = 0.75 (its even less popular than your Zeke).  Perk poits for the D-hog = 1.07 (its pretty close to your Zeke in popularity).  So, you scored 1.82 perk points.  Add in the 25% bonus if you return to base = 2.275, rounded off to 2.27 points.

I don't see the problem.

[(30/40)+(30/28)]*1.25 ~= 2.27

Now, if you had killed that C-hog instead of letting the Ack Weenies get him....

Yadda yadda yadda....

You would have got 6.03 points

Hans.

P.S.  All things averageing out in the very end....1 kill = 1 perk point.

Hans, if that's directed at me I don't see any where on there were it says the ack got them. I shot them down. I blew ones wing off and I watched him go in, no ack. The other one blew up right in front of me. If ack shot them in route that might be a reason. I didn't see it. But I didn't let the ack weenies shot them. There was no ack around at the time. What are you talking about? Who is your comment directed at. Like I said if it was me where did I mention any ack.

  Reading is fundamental.   Thx Staga, LOL. Sorry Hans. A little Richard Cranium on my part. I have to remember to drink my coffee and THEN read the bulletin board.

<turns the valve of his flamethrower off>

Your lucky this time, Jim.

Anywhos, if you want your sortie scored:

1.  Chog is ENY 10
2.  Dhog is ENY 28
3.  Me109G2 is ENY 40

If they both were Chogs = 10 points
If one was D and the other C = 6.7
If you shot a single Chog down = 5
If you shot a single Dhog down = 1.78

From the math it looks like you only killed a single D-hog.  Like I mentioned, if you get an assist, you don't get any perk points.

Are you sure you were not awarded a partial kill on one, and that they both were C-models?

Hans.

I am almost positive it was two C-hogs. I am fairly sure I was the only one to do damage on both. I was sure enough that when I got back to check my score I was very surprised and disappointed. I was definitely credited "You shot down...". I was getting a very bad connection that night and loged not to long after that flight so that my have played a part I don't know.
