Seeing the top pilots is one of my personal favorites ~ as well as the cocky banter that goes along with any effort to get there... competition *rocks*

Seriously... It is a good thing to recognize those at the top and to strive to be one of those players. What is wrong with having an exceptional tour? Or for that matter being recognized for the achievement?

Forget about "replacing it" as long as it's removed I think it would help a LOT!

Remove the scores from the front page and there's no reason to be a score potato, less reason to be timid, and overall there will be less implications from HTC that folks ought to act like these "top ranked pilots" (*snicker*)

Anytime I sit down at the computer is heroic Shifty!  With my ineptitude, just pressing the power button could lead to disaster!  The risks I take to fly my cartoon 38G are beyond those of the average man!

If you really think that removing the top scorers names from the front page is going to change the way they play you are naive.  Those that play for rank/score will still play for rank/score/bragging rights.

That said I don't ever look at the front page so if they were removed I wouldn't care.

And if THEY are the only ones going "look at me! Lookit my score!" then what?

They come off as self-important braggards, and the community jeers or ignores them. The problem goes away.

By having HTC say "look at them! Lookit their score" it legitimizes the entire thing and makes it seem important, and implies "this is a lofty goal to aspire towards".

It makes a difference.

Hitech Puts up top 3 submitted SCREEN SHOTS of the month! Not many of us are good at this game ...but everyone ...anyone might have a great screen shot!...This may go more to creating interest to the game than seeing SHAWKS ..(love the man).... name every month.

Howabout a "get to know" section of the news that selects a lucky pilot for an interview? That way we know we're all human and not some robots!

There are some great ideas here.  I agree, replace it.

The less someone concentrates on their score, the more of a help they will be to their country and fellow players.  They may also have more......dare I say.......FUN.

I think having the top scores up is just fine the way it is.

It doesn't faze me either way.

Change this, change that, Jeeez just fly your plane already.

For people who don't care about high scoring pilots, you all seem to talk about them alot.

Adding scores from the air races and koth is a pretty good idea though.
