Attack Damage Awards

If you attack a structure but aren't the one to actually "kill" it, do you get any points (damage or perk) for your attempts?

I attacked a hanger with an 190F8 the other day, dropped everything I had on it and was reversing for a strafing pass.  Someone came in behind and with only a quick burst took it down.  I don't remember getting a single perk point for my work.

Is this true?  Sounds sorta lame to me if it is...  it would explain why I can rack up fighter perk points fine, but it'll take me forever to rack up any bomber ones.

The person who gets the 'kill' message for the structure gets the perk points. Normal points (ie. the meaningless score) goes off damage inflicted, but perk points just work off 'kills'.

You will need to fly BOMBERS to get bomber points, Fighter with eggs , even in Attack mode are counted as Fighter perkies I think...

I figured it worked this way but I think that is wrong.  I'm usually trying to hit targets that require me to make several passes which leads to someone else finishing it off with very little work before I have the chance to complete the job.

Oh well, it's nothing serious, but I think it should/could be changed.  If they record the damage you do for scoring reasons, then they should also be able to record some perk points for the effort.  Either that or I'll have to start flying something that can finish off a hanger in one pass.
