That song kicks some serious heiney!  Love the lyrics.

Nightwish seems to hold a lot of my attention recently.
Do not attribute to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence, fear, ignorance or stupidity, because there are millions more garden variety idiots walking around in the world than there are blackhearted Machiavellis.

Sum 41-Were all to Blame, Fat Lip, Still waiting..  :rock

Blink 182-First date, Feeling this, Down.

I respect that you like that stuff; but do not think that is punk.  Bubble-gum pop/punkish is the correct genre for that.  Blink used to be punk... waaay back in the day.

**I'm not dissing what you like, just some enlightening info. from a punker.**

Look up these bands:

Minor Threat

Operation Ivy

Lagwaggon

The Addicts

Misfits <- The song Rat Fink is where my name comes from.

The Aquabats <- your Travis Barker started out w/ them.

Crass

GG Allen

Agent Orange

The Clash

Bad Religion

The Bouncing Souls

Descendents

RAMONES

The Dead Milkmen

Dead Kennedy's

I could go on and on and on and...

That song kicks some serious heiney!  Love the lyrics.

The lyrics weren't at all what I expected when I first heard the song. I expected something much darker.

Quote
Alrighty, then ... picture this if you will.

10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes,
in my "need to know" pose, just outside of Area 51
Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thingy
when a flaming stealth banana split the sky
like one would hope but never really expect
to see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime
and stopping right at my Birkenstocks,
and me yelping...

Holy f**king sh*t!

Then the X-Files being,
Looking like some kind of blue-green Jackie Chan
with Isabella Rossellini lips, and breath that reeked of
vanilla Chig Champa
Did a slow-mo Matrix descent
Outta the butt end of the banana vessel
And hovered above my bug-eyes, my gaping jaw,
and my sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper lip,
and all I could think was:
"I hope Uncle Martin here doesn't notice
that I pissed my f**kin' pants."

So light in his way,
Like an apparition, that
He had me crying out,
"F**k me
It's gotta be
the Deadhead Chemistry
The blotter got right on top of me
Got me seein' E-motherf**kin'-T!"

And after calming me down
with some orange slices
and some fetal spooning,
E.T. revealed to me his singular purpose.
He said, "You are the Chosen One,
the One who will deliver the message.
A message of hope for those who choose to hear it
and a warning for those who do not."
Me. The Chosen One?
They chose me!!!
And I didn't even graduate from f**kin' high school.

You'd better...
You'd better...
You'd better...
You'd better listen.

Then he looked right through me
With somniferous almond eyes
Don't even know what that means
Must remember to write it down
This is so real
Like the time Dave floated away
See, my heart is pounding
'Cause this sh*t never happens to me

I can't breathe right now!

It was so real,
Like I woke up in Wonderland.
All sorta terrifying
I don't wanna be all alone
While I tell this story.
And can anyone tell me why
Y'all sound like Peanuts parents?
Will I ever be coming down?
This is so real
Finally, it's my lucky day
See, my heart is racing
'Cause this sh*t never happens to me

I can't breathe right now!

You believe me, don't you?
Please believe what I've just said!
See the Dead ain't touring
And this wasn't all in my head.
See, they took me by the hand
And invited me right in.
Then they showed me something
I don't even know where to begin.

Strapped down to my bed
Feet cold and eyes red
all alone in my head
Am I alive? Am I dead?
Can't remember what they said
Golly-geen, sh*t the bed.

Hey ...

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be the One
Born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending,
To write it down for all the world to see.

But I forgot my pen
sh*t the bed again ...
Typical.

Strapped down [to] my bed
Feet cold and eyes red
all alone in my head
Am I alive? Am I dead?
Sunkist and Sudafed *
Gyroscopes and infrared
Won't help, I'm brain dead
Can't remember what they said
Golly-geen, sh*t the bed

I can't remember what they said to me
Can't remember what they said to make me out to be a hero
Can't remember what they said
Bob help me!
Can't remember what they said

We don't know, and we won't know (x12)

Golly-geen, sh*t the bed!

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass (Still Listening to Labor Days)

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Been listening to a lot of Alice Donut lately, especially their first album that came out when I was still in high school.  I guess I've been a nostalgic mood lately as most of the bands I've been listening to lately I've into since a teenager.

Bauhaus [Sky's Gone Out, Mask]
The Birthday Party [Prayers On Fire]
Buzzmanthings (lol forum language filter filtered the name)
The Cramps [Date with Elvis, Bad Music for Bad People]
The Damned
Echo and The Bunnymen [Songs to learn and sing, Crocodile]
Jesus and Mary Chain [Psycocandy]
Fields of the Nephilim [Dawnrazor]
Gary Numan [The Pleasure Principle]
The Gun Club [Miami]
The Sisters of Mercy [First Last and Always, Reptile House EP]
Jane's Addiction [Nothing Shocking]
Killing Joke
Love and Rockets
Meat Puppets
Mekons
Swans
Mission of Burma [Snapshot]
The Mr. T Experience
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds [Let Love In]
The Pixies
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry
Sex Gang Children
.45 Grave
The Smiths
Steel Pole Bathtub
The Stone Roses
Television
Tones on Tail
U2

Those are the bands I have currently loaded on my iPod and iTunes.

The Clash

The Clash with The English Beat was the first concert I went to, back in '82.  Think it was Mick Jone's last tour with the Clash before being replaced for the US Festival.

"Brutality and Bloodshed For All"

My old college roommate went to go see GG Allin play in San Francisco came back swearing it was the worst show he's ever seen.  Turns out, he was in the front row and got hit smack in the face by one of GG Allin's poop bombs and other bodily fluids.

I have Social D.

That's why I put "I could go on and on and on and..."  Believe me, I have ALOT more bands to name, but it would overwhelm everyone.  The bands I like are not found on the radio unless you have sat. radio.

My fav. GG Allin song is "You Hate Me & I Hate You"

I'm a little partial to "Shoot, Knife, Strangle, Beat & Crucify"  :)

Ack-Ack, that's classic.   :lol

All this talk of GG, I've gotta go listen to some Johnny Cash and mellow out...
