Also whats the cheapest mic I can get that will do the job?  ANy other tricks of the trade or any bad habits you can warn me not to get into?

Just divorce her.  Worked for me.  Oops... wait... she divorced me.  Well, it worked out anyway.

Just enjoy the game. Understand it takes a while to be skillfull. Most of all do everything in the game and have fun! I would start off by asking for a trainer. If none are available I would to the TA = Training Arena and practive turning and landing in a variety of aircraft. Use the CV too.

So just get out kill something and drag it home.

   welcome aboard... I bought a headset mic combo 2 years ago from radio shack 15 bucks with no problems..It actually has radioshack written on it lol..Make sure your stall limiter option is unchecked in flight options and bare with it for awhile..Then if you really get into this game let your wife no that u wont be seeing her much anymore Then let her no that the $150 rudder pedals are a must for ur new hobby along with the $100 stick.. and have fun..
