Downed Pilots
« on: June 29, 2008, 12:33:30 PM »
How about being able to rescue downed pilots. A few of the downed pilots perks into your account for returning the pilot to a friendly base. Pick'em up in a PT, C47, GV etc  etc. :rock

I'm not going to sit and wait to be rescued.

It couldn count like ditching counts. Not as a death.

Why wait 10-20 mins for a jeep/C47 to come pick you up then fly/drive the 10-20 mins back to back so you land your few kills when you can just .ef and take another plane up in a matter of seconds? Not to mention that probably no one will reply to your "need a goon to pick me up".

Yeah, why don't we wait 30minutes to get picked up so our friend can earn half a perk for saving us, not to mention the other 30minutes for returning...
Great idea, ill bet you might want to add helicopters so we can wait longer? Go ask Valerio, he has like 75 posts on HELICOPTERS and saving downed pilots.
Ill make you a deal, you don't make another post about this and we will all forget you ever made it? Agreed??

Maybe it could be something like being rescued counts as a landed sortie?? so there is some point for being rescued but im still not a fan of the idea, too long to wait

In fact I would not mind being able to do this for a squad member or some one I liked who had an interest in their score. I do think if it was to be implemented that you could do it as they did during the war fellow squad mates landed in enemy territory & doubled up in the cockpit.

It could count as you landing half of his kills (or atleast 2 of them, if he only has 2, then he gets none, if he has 1, there'll be a message to warn you).

Could be used for FSO and scenarios might be a bit interesting.

i didnt think of that,
i would still h8 to be stuck with that position in the FSO, actually i dont think anyone would (willingly) just sit around for a while and watch someone fly 'em back but if u can find ppl to do it it seems cool

for FSO it would be pretty cool...like every week one squad is assigned on each side to do that

but then on the other hand u would need to make a new plane and in hitechs eyes i dont think itd be worth the time and effort

How 'bout not getting captured in sight of your own base?
