What is your problem, if you nothing to say that has a point then say nothing.

Ok, I just deleted what I was gonna say and I will try to be nice.

This concept is better handled with mailing lists than having HTC admin a country specific BBS forum. Which would could actually become 4 arena specific, country specific forums....hmmm, that would be what...12 private forums for HTC to admin. This gets out of hand very quickly.

Oh...BTW, my point was that it isn't practical.

Thank you I respect your opinion, but I don't know how HTC would administer it, my thought was promote more cooperation between the in-country squads, but thank you again for your responce. :salute

I can tell you how they would admin it, by not doing it. If you want this, do what's been done in the past, use an email list.

BTW, I'm turning off nice mode. It's more fun to be an icehole. :)

I think it's a good idea. Boss all you need to do is call or e-mail skuzzy and ask him for a privet forums on the BBS. All you need to do is give him the name of the forums like "Bishop forums" and why like " privet forums for the Bishops."

If he gives YOU that private forum ... then YOU are the Admin and it is YOU that will need to verify and invite each person into the forum ... good luck on that.

Maybe you are not clear in the scope of my proposal, first this is a per country squad forum (that means if your in a squad in that country, it's the squad itself that's allowed into the forum and not a independent countrymate), so the admin you are pointing out would be for the squads in that country only, as for the people or squads that switch sides on a regular basis well if they want in on that countries forum they will be there for the tour that is in progress and they also must be in a squad in that particular country. :salute

Maybe you don't understand exactly how a BBS and it's "Forums" work.

There are "super" admins ... HT, Pyro, Skuzzy, HTC Staff.

One of those admins has to set up each and every forum on the BBS. At the same time, they also have to set up an access list.

All the forums that we see, except the "private" forums, have the access list setup up to allow "ALL" to see/post.

Now, if Skuzzy setup ... Rook Forum ... Knight Forum ... Bish Forum ... there is no way, within the BBS software, to cross link BBS IDs with what country you fly for or what squad you are in, to limit who can and cannot access those forums.

So, someone would have to allow access, to those forums, on an individual by individual basis. I can guarantee that Skuzzy will not be the one doing that. A "super" admin can give other individuals "limited" admin privs, for select forums.

I have admin privs for the "Blue Knights" forum ... every single guy in the Blue Knights had to be put on the "list" for access ... individually ... they didn't get access because they were in the Blue Knights squad.

Your idea is a good idea ... but implementation/maintenance would be a nightmare ... for someone.

Nevermind that such a forum would be meant for secrecy of some degree, and that there's the same 1-hour lifetime to "nationality"... Yet another example of how meaningless "country loyalty" is.

I understand what you are saying and you very valid points, but the same way we moderate our squad forums this can also be handled similarly, so as each of squad administrators would be responsible for putting the rest of there squad members in just like the private squad forums. :salute

These forums have ...

Moderators and Basic Moderators.

So ... Skuzzy would give you Moderator status ... and then you could do the adding/deleting of the Basic Moderators (Squad COs) ... and the Basic Moderators could add their squaddies to the forum.

What I don't know is if a Basic Moderator can add/delete users to/from a private forum.

If they can, then your all set ... but I wouldn't want to be strapped down adding/deleting Basic Moderators (and their squaddies) as they move in and out of a country after a complete "tour".
