Nomination to the S.A.P.P.
« on: June 25, 2008, 09:48:33 AM »
Now I know that Moot here isn't flying a P-38, but I see a natural in the making.........

Does anyone else think that Moot's been haning out with Guppy too much?
I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.

LOL   I did the same thing with two GVs (a flak and some tank) about 5 or 6 K away from another base... Rolled  a 25H, stayed around 150mph or below, rolled downhill from the base's plateau, drove all the way to em, popped em with one or two 75mm (didn't even have to leap over them to avoid ramming them), and drove back, and landed.  Some guys were in the air trying to dodge the AA fire and do something useful, meanwhile...

He is in a jumbo P38, which the Consortium of Twelve deems respectable. If only he had clipped his wings

Stop stealing my techniques M00t :noid.  Just glad other people know how to fly the B-25H and aim it.

Never tried it in a 25H, we have rolled 39s and 38s as armored units however.  Looks like we have a heavy tank now :)

M00t i have 1 tip in case you don't know it: When you are ready to fire at the Tank hit the brake which in turn lowers your nose enough for a perfect shot.

Yeah, you can nose down with the elevators around 100-150mph or so.. That's with the default combat trim (elevatored up), so it ought to be doable a little sooner still in manual trim.  The brakes really help when the target is just near the spawn, though. :)

I did this the other night in the Mid-War Arena.

T34, Whirble and Panzer all on the field and no ord or VH.

I got killed a few times but also got hits on a few gv's also.  No kills, Tatour spawned in from another base and got them.

It was fun.

I did this quite a while back in a 38G.  Was flying over an enemy vbase and got half my wing and an engine killed.  Couldn't make it home, so I just landed out in the open about 2K from the base, rolled down a hill and, though it didn't do much, let off with every gun I had on there.  Was promptly towered due to a Panzer :lol :rock
