Personally I am a little saddened.  I didn't think that jeep owners would voluntarily give them up.


For me I just got an oil change and a tire balancing on mine.  After she safely got me home with a destroyed radiator, I made her a promise that I'd never sell her.

Of course now she runs unnervingly smooth.

you traded you jeep for a focus!!!!!!!!!    oh the horrors. no more mud for you. so sorry to hear that.

Hangs head in semi shame.  Yes after 10 years I traded in my Jeep Wrangler.  It was a long fought battle to keep it but the price of gas seems to have one. 

I Looked around at a good commuter and decided on a 2008 focus.  I have to say I'm pleasantly suprised with the car.  It's got ALOT of bells and wistles for the price (namely the sync radio).  To top it off the 35mpg just was too good to pass up.

Please don't judge me, I allready miss my jeep.  I hope he's ok and not lonely!  I won't miss all the knuckle bleeding wrench turning I did on it.  Most of wich is well docunmented on this forum.

When it comes down to it, I work 7 days a week for 8 weeks at a time and $300 a month just in gas is too much!

and air conditioner crapped out at 37 months, a month after warranty expired.  Probably a seal somewhere, but of course dealer insisted entire AC had to be replaced for around $1,500. 

More likely a $.50 O-ring. Most dealer service departments are either clueless, thieves, or both. I never believe a word they say. I converted my '91 CRX from R-12 to R-134a for roughly $50. The dealer's price of $1500 would have been more than the book value of my car.

And there's nothing wrong with driving a Focus. Small cars are great fun to drive.

Well Guns, that sucks, but I understand. If I didn't car pool I wouldn't be in love ewith the 15 MPG either.



Still on the upside, real jeeps have round headlights sooooo, when the bug comes back buy a TJ or CJ just for fun.


I just got back from lunch, nice day sunny, 72, nice breeze getting rid of all the smoke from half of Cali burning. I sat in it under a tree and read playboy while eating a nice lunch. No top the pefect temp, life is good.

yea I didn't like the 07s.  The looks of the 08 and the SYNC feature sold me on this.  The trunk is extremely roomie too.  I actually fit a full size keg in there last night.

BAH! a Focus?  I traded in my jeep wrangler (@16mpg and 190 H.P.) for a Dodge Magnum R/T ( 20 mpg and 340 H.P. on 87 octane gas). With the price of gas in high orbit, the extra $80/month car payment is SO worth it. The best part is i can drive mine during the day too
