 Put 2 to 3 million into mutual funds, draw off 8% for a income of about $200,000. Use that income to travel the world. 97 million for charity.

 Oh who am I kidding? 97 million for me! 2 to 3 million for charity. Ya that should quell my conscience. Well maybe not that much. My conscience is relatively dormant. OK 100 million into mutual funds drain off 8% for income. Give to charity as long as I get a tax break. Get a house in Las Vegas. Make it decadent with gold toilets, expensive garish art/statues a 60 inch plasma in the bathroom. Put a Lamborghini in the garage. Never drive it. Have a chauffeur drive me everywhere.
 Fill the pool with beer, swim to the bottom and drink my way dry. Hire a new stripper every day. When I run out of new strippers. Move to a new city, probably Reno.

 OK I really wouldn't hire any strippers or move to Vegas. At my age, its about family and my community. I wouldn't be Mother Theresa but I wouldn't be like a Tyco CEO either. Provide for my family, live comfortable, but not too opulent. Travel. Help my community where I can. My favorite charities would probably be education, children, women (I have 2 daughters) related.

I'd actually set up conditions for the trust fund.  The main condition would be that my children would have to earn say 2 million dollars on their own before the trust fund becomes their's.  If my children turn out to be worthless losers, then the trust fund keeps growing with interest.  It will become available to the first descendant of mine who does 2 million dollars (inflation adjusted).


As for charity?  I'd probably donate a LOT of money (relatively speaking) to an organization of mine that would have no idea what to do with it.  Say for example my sailing club.  Every year through our fund raising and our expenses, we get roughly $1,000 more in the bank.  What if suddenly they had 5 million dollars to play with.  I doubt our 30 person organization could touch more than an extra 20 G's a year.

    I would by a huge piece of land near a lake,secluded and build a big compound with all my family and close friends having their own houses. Id build an arena with a stage and sound system and play guitar with my buds all day, everyday. We'd have alot of partys and hire bands we want to see, and drink. Alot.

Destabilize and take over a small latin american or asian country using the right financial leverage and appropriate mercenary forces. Provide tolerant but aboslutely forceful leadership for my subjects. Petition the US govt. to become a regional puppet state. Develope an effective local military force to deal with my neighbors, should the need arise. Much like a kinder and gentler Saddam Hussein, but without the overt opression and the whloe Kuwait thing. Quickly recoup my initial investment, and then some.

I'm pretty in line with Reschke's lists:

Pay off mortgage on house.
Pay off car notes.
Pay off mortgage for my parents, for my husbands parents, and our brothers/sisters.
Purchase vehicles for each of my sons... for them to restore with their pops.
Make full payment for college for each of them... for as long as they wanted to attend.
Create a trust for each of them... couple million upon reaching adulthood.
Instead of ever going back to work... I'd just be a permanent student... taking college courses whenever & wherever I want, all the time... not even working toward degrees, really... just subjects that I want to learn about... full time student for the rest of my life.

Pay for an Operation Care Package (USO) event once a year for about 20 years [i think their standard is about 10,000 packages per event]
Pay for the local enlisted spouses club's full calendar of events for about 5 years [they do some pretty great stuff for the folks around here]
There's an awesome local homeless shelter... I'd pay for a complete renovation of all of their offices and the homes on their property.
I'd donate a sizeable amount to our church congregation...
I'd pay for the building of a preaching school, which our other church congregation hopes to build (elsewhere in Texas... we spend enough time there that it's our '2nd' place we attend church at)

The rest of it I'd give to my husband to do with as he wishes.

My trophy room would be a copy of Noahs Ark with 2 of every legal game animal in the world in it.

I'd be on the road 6 mos a year hunting and fishing. I'd have about 1,000 acres to run my dogs in, shoot waterfowl, deer hunt, and with a 1,000 yrd range for all my friends to shoot at.

I'd give a huge gift to the NRA and dedicate the rest of my life to protect sport hunting and the 2nd amendment.

I'd give huge gifts to scouting, both boys and girls. I would do something for veterans and crippled LEOs. And for the familys of those who have lost loved ones in service.

And I'd sit on my arse a lot playing cartoon war, only with a better system.
