For starters.

I think I'd spend about 20% on real estate in the first 2 years, and hide the rest to collect interest. Of course there would be various more fun, less stable investements, but that would be a start.

For Charity I would find a good tax attorney to keep the money out of the hands of the leeches.

considering 100M can get you half a Billion......go on a real estate buying spree.....in the form of hotels...along with some well qualified partners...and move to australia.

i'd put it away, and live nicely off the interest. i think that would let me bu a nice home in one of the carolinas, with my own private airstrip, and fence the sucker in.

Pay off my mortgage, invest in some real estate (hotels and whatnot), purchase an Ege-540 and begin entering aerobatic competitions and advertising myself to fly @ airshows :)  oh.... and id be slightly wasteful on a couple things.. id buy a Lamborghini for myself, and my wife likes the little Lotus elise.....

Immediate needs will be taken care of:
  • Pay off my current house and complete the work on the renovation to add the partial second story and have the back yard redone completely.
  • Pay off the current cars and buy myself an Aston Martin Vanquish.
  • grab that old 1993 Range Rover to have it restored to mint condition for my son to drive when he turns 16.
  • Buy a lake house on Lake Martin and Lake Jefferson here in Alabama
  • Buy a nice 40-60 foot yacht to put in the Gulf of Mexico and live on during the winter and park off the beach in the summer. Who needs a condo at the beach when you can cruise around to different beaches in the Gulf/Carribean.

Just a few small things on my bucket/wish list:
  • Hire a mercenary group to tie up a few long term small items from the past...just because I can with $100 million.
  • Buy an F4U Corsair and restore it to flying condition and learn how to fly it after I have learned how to fly real planes and not these cartoon ones that I have a problem landing consistently.
  • Finish stocking up on guns and ammo in common types so that I will not have to many exotic calibers to deal with. I prefer 7.62 x 39 or x 51
  • Buy a stake in a professional football team.
  • QUIT FRIGGIN WORKING FOR A LIVING AND START DOING SOMETHING THAT I WANT TO DO!

odd that none of you would immediately bolster personal security and insurance issues for self and loved ones.

there are bad people out there looking for people with new found money.....I'd even look at kidnapping insurance.
