I know this has been asked before....
« on: July 02, 2008, 11:46:44 PM »
Could we see transitioning types of enviroments in the MA? Not like the weather itself, but lets say from what we got now to... a desert for a good long while, then to lets say palm trees and stuff on the coast... It could be nice and not too hard on HTC (I hope)

It could be the same maps for all I care. Just different terrain. I'd like to be able to fight over a desert, over snow. Be kinda cool to GV fight in sand-dunes where the hills are almost the same height and it's hard to see over the next. Fighting over snow could be cool too. I dont think snow would be hard to model into what we got now. Just make the ground white w/ the trees and stuff we got now.

No like I said, NO weather. Just terrain.

Maybe even edit the maps like they did to rhine. During the winter months in real life, we could have snow cover maps to coincide.

We really need more maps! Maybe put some of the old ones back up until more maps are submitted if HTC doesn't have that many new ones. Just getting old seeing the same maps again every 2 weeks until "The big one" comes along and we get stuck with it until the end of the tour.

I've always thought it would be interesting to have different terrain based on the different original country territories.

So, if it's MMesa for example, one country starts on snowland, one on the desert, and one gets the tropical tiles we have now. Will rotate of course each map reset, and on each different map. Just provides a little more immersion...you "know" you're in enemy territory because of the terrain. Or, if the enemy has captured a lot of your bases, you have that reference point for a counter attack ("at least lets recapture snowland, guys", or something like that)

I think you'd see some more spirited base defense, as the concept of part of the map "belonging" to your country is a little more tangible than "oh, was that one of our initial fields? yes? no?". Which in turn would be great for gameplay.

Or making transitions in it. Just in a random spot in the map, have a huge desert, or have an elevated spot way south or way north that has snow. Near the middle, you could have like a tropical thing, in mid south/north have like a decidious climate or a coniferious climate. :aok

I've seen snow maps before in snapshots or maybe it was a scenario... either way there has been snow in them and it looked great, I would love to see it on the MA maps, along with other things like tropics, etc.

I totally agree. What could be so hard about making new boards? All the bases are the same, just change the terrain.  :aok
