I have found if your too close, the rounds have no effect.  I have one shot tanks 3k yards out, but 5 shots point blank and nothing..

The 17 pounder in the Firefly was a devastating weapon. The problem with hitting a WW or OW turret and having nothing happen, is that the gun mount is smack in the middle. Hitting that mount will definitely set off an AP round.

A 75mm causes stuff like this to happen...

This Pz IV was destroyed by a T-34/76

This StugIII was killed by a Firefly near Arnhem. The AP round went straight through. Didn't blow up, but the concussion killed everyone inside.

This Panzer IV was killed by a 47mm French gun...not even a 75mm.

This is what happens to a T-34 when hit with a 75mm.

I realize there's some playability issues that have to be considered...it is a game...but hitting damn near anything with a Tiger, usually results in a dead target. Hitting a WW, Pz IV, Sherman, or T-34 (especially the T-34/76), as long as it's not a glancing shot, was usually fatal. The brute force of the 88mm hitting the target usually disassembled the target...kinda like hitting an apple with a sledgehammer.

I also have seen similar events with tanks and sometimes planes especially when have some one 200 out and on their 6-o'clock and no damage occurs it seems that the bullits go right through them. :noid

In that case, they probably are. A number of video settings, mainly Vsync, are attributed to either "rubber bullets" or loss of hit detection.

Wait till Dr7 or Rondar complains. THEN it's about time someone does something about it.

I was in the TA one day helping a squaddie learn some GV techniques.  Have you heard people in the MA say that their rounds are going right through the target?  I saw how this happens.  We were about 800 apart and I was putting rounds right down his gun barrel.  I would see a dust plume behind his tank and he would say that he never got a sound that would have demonstrated a hit.  So he sat there as I filmed this so I could send it to Skuzzy and I shot 6 rounds or so down his barrel with the same result every time.  My film of that is on another computer so I can't send it right now. Someone remind me later...

I wonder if the no damage setting in the TA contributed to that?.  Did you try in the DA?

I wondered that too but assumed that it wasn't the damage setting for the TA because he never heard the ping as he did when I'd hit him elsewhere.  Of course that assumption could be wrong.  I didn't try it in the DA.

As far as i know, no one** can be hurt/killed in the Training arena, no matter what. "Save a plane crashing, or gv rolling down hill till driver dies". However, your target should have still registerd sounds and such as being Hit, but who knows how exactly it works, just passin' the buck on.

I've shot Tanks 20 times point blank and they smile at me. just had it happen again. whats going on here?
this is for all Tanks...I've had it happen with every GV in the game. can ya fill me in Scuzzy?

I agree about the bugs, but what is worse is the score dweebs that exploit them for their benefit.  They know they are in a bugged tank and they "fight on". A perfect example of this would be ALASKOP.  Tonight he came in on V32 in a Tiger, survived the initial attack and proceeded to set up in the hanger to camp the base.  There must have been 15-20 guys shooting AP,HE, MG rounds and he just would not die.  Then to add insult to injury he was told by many people and do you think he did the honorable thing?  OFCOURSE NOT! He just sat there and fired.  Only after he had expended ALL he rounds did he end flight.  I know it is a game, but really does your need for selfvalidation entail exploiting a known bug to pad your score?

Maybe I am expecting too much.  What happened to this game, or more specifically to us, the players.  When did it become about rank and score?  I remember when people were out to test their skill Vs. others, when it was considered honorable to let a guys fly home if he called bingo or winchester, when the whole purpose of the game was to HAVE FUN.

End of rant! :furious

Bad,this isn't exactly correct. Have a friend bail from their plane and drop a 1000lb bomb on them.
Bet ya send them to the tower. I think damage is set to 0.001 not 0 so 1000 rounds equal 1 round.

Course this is just heresay and not admissable in court!!!!  :o

I was in an m8 on the beach shooting AP rounds into the side of an LTV. I must have hit it 15 times, varying the placement of hits, from the front to the back. I was getting full flash hits most of the time. And then a teammate straffed it and blew it up. I got an assist. I couldn't tell if it was landing craft or tank. But, 15 hits? I've taken out tank LTVs with a couple of hits to the front in an M8 with AP's. Are the LTV's side armored?
