Perk point questions

I seen to recall some discussion about perk points being awarded for other things than just getting kills when the announcement was made.  This was to assure that the not only the best pilots were able to fly the perk planes.  Will this be implemented?
Also, I flew a mission the other night and scored a clean assist on a N1k1 and got nothing.  Are the points only awarded to the person the kill is given too?
I feel the system should be tailored a little more towards team play.

Not a knock or anything.. but what else do you feel perk points should be awarded for?  An honest question here.

I'm not exactly sure what a "clean assist" is.  I do know that rewarding an assist with perk points would go a long way towards increasing the already high number of occurances where people chase wingless smoking cons to the ground... even though they didn't make them either wingless or smoking.

Actually, it is.  Those who use team play, team tactics and more to the point wingman tactics will be rewarded with more kills, a higher k/d and more landed sorties.  Teamplay means more success and is self rewarding.

Yes, players from the country that wins the war who are on at the time of the reset each get 20 Perk Points in each category.

Perk points are also awarded for base captures.

I think there should be some perk points for assists.  Non/few-cannon birds tend to pick up a lot of assists as compared to multi-cannon toting ones.  Nothing more annoying than working a contact down, taking a piece of him, but having someone else get the kill and perkies in one cannon pass.

Are people really seeing that much kill stealing these days?  I haven't seen a single kill of mine truely "Stolen" in a couple of months.  I've lost some kills for different reasons, but none that I considered an pure attempt to steal the kill.

I don't like the term "kill stealing".  Its not really what I am concerned with.  What is more of a problem is the "everyone shooting at the one con with a disadvantage syndrome" that I see so prevelant in the arena.  6 planes chasing one low con around inspite of the fact that 3 cons are coming in above them.

I've also seen as many as 4 people chase a flaming plane to the ground.  Not necessarily kill stealing because its dificult to beat the hits on target that rendered the plane wingless... but dweeb-foolery none the less.

Perkies for assists would make this even worse.

I'm sorry, what I meant by "clean assist" was myself and only one other pilot scored hits on the aircraft.  I placed long bursts in it removing some parts, then he finnished it off.  I got the assist credit over the radio buffer, but when I landed and I got no perk points for the mission.  I also landed good hits on another N1K1 durring the mission.

I think if you award the points only to the person getting credit for the kill, then that will increase the number of players following the con down to get to be the last one to ping it and get the kill.  I'm not sure how the kill award system works, but it seems to be awarded to the last guy to hit the aircraft before the pilot dies or bails.  I've been pretty shot up, and then had a different plane come in and hit me causing me to have to bail, and the second plane has always got the kill.  Maybe that is what might be looked at.

I did not know that players got points for being there when their contry wins.

I remember someone from HTC stating that they were also looking at awarding points for flying missions, and that perk points would even just acumulate over time (at a slow rate.).  That is more what I was talking about.

I think that awarding perk points only for kills in A2A fights lessens the 'Fly to live' atmosphere a bit.  When the kill becomes more important, that's when you get more Quake-dweebs going for kills, instead of concentrating on team play.  More vulchers, "kill theives", and the other things we complain about.

Wmutt, try flying the C-47 for a successful field capture. Racks up major bomber perk points (Can you say Arado?)

I've seen a lot of buff kill stealing goin' on lately. Hopefully, one of these days when you shoot the wing off a plane and make it unflyable the kill will be awarded to you...untill then, if you attack a buff when other friendlies are around ya better make him go pop!

I guees kill steals is difficult to get rid off, but is sure is a great anoyance. I use 109 a lot. Ever so often I chase down a con from hi alt, force him down and keep my E and advantage until I can do the kill. But, then when con is low and slow a spit or a niki comes in and steal. Its always a spit or a niki ... I hate that.

I think I hate friendly spits and nikis more than the enemy once!!@@!!

Yes, I think I'll start doing that    I have been using the M3 cause it's fun, but without any tanks to spend the points on it isn't very rewarding.
