How about putting kill decals on a plane (tail for LW planes, below canopy for Allied etc), to mark the current streak ?

Capture or death would reset those, of course.

Yes, it is only a show off for screenshots, but still a nice feature.

I like it alot! But not just for the current streak, why not for the player total record - but by type of course.  Then it needn't be just for screen shots. Dont forget the half image for assists!

Some players have over 500 kills per tour !! Yet, their streak is rarely above 10. Quite a difference.

Painting all those 500 kill marks would be bending of thruth  . And non historical.

My idea is not just for showing off all those decals. IMO, it might change the way some people fly (more or less).

Careful flying will get rewarded, while Quakeing will get you 2-3 decals tops  .

As for per plane type, I agree.

500 kills?!?!?! YIKES.  Well then I WANT to see that on their plane so I know to RUNAWAY! LOL.  Really though there were some pilots with 300 plus kills (Germans in Eastern Front).  You would have to have some sort of shorthand markings to denote this, say a Much Larger National Symbol to denote A Hundred Kills than the ones being used to denote single kills, or some variation on this (small per one kill medium per ten large per one hundred or whatever).  Its doable, doing it per streak is lacking in as much as with boots and the nasty ack, most of us dont have streaks last very long at all.  I don't think people would vary their flying for that as much.  For my idea on how to do that see my string Non Linear Perk Points

Current streak would be best, IMO.

SMILEY FACES!!!!!!!
Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

yeah and dont forget tags for us buff pilots too ('cmon eskimo, woulda thought you would have brought this up.) And no yello i cant see all kills being displayed, just for s. and g. i checked it out, they would have to put 1178 decals on my plane. that would be farcical at best   im sure there are tons of players that have even more, so yeah per tour

Great Idea, plus dont forget that they only get added after the flight. No magically self painting abschussbalken in mid-flight.

Well if you caught what I said, instead of having one hundred kills for each hundred you would have ONe larger image, so for 1000 you would have ten larger markers or even one yet bigger one for 1 K.  But kills for tour would be good, just streak is too little

Painting anything over 300 would be disrespect to real life pilots.

Their score was in one life only. No respawning, no refly buttons.

Only streak please.

Nice idea, but the only person that would see them would be the guy parked next to you at the rearm point...

Heh I have talked to some crew pilots bought sims.  Most seem to like them, some think they are so silly as to be insulting.  But the truth is this game is so ridiculously non-sim as far as a real war, any war let alone the ones these planes flew in, that comparing the kills to real ones is silly.  I mean, lets face it your talking about a game where Spitfires Shoot Down lancasters. The kill keeping is for the player, it would be fun, and the more the merrier in that regard. As far as who will see them well thers always a tight formation Skurj!! I admit though it would be nice if the Zoon had a little more oompf so you could check out your fellow flyers markings better. I have yet to see a piece of Nose Art other than in the BMP files in their folder.

The game is historical only how much you want it to be historical. There are diehards historical simmers out there. It is not just Quake like you might believe.
