Indesructible Hangars in DA
« on: July 07, 2008, 11:27:39 PM »
Generally I go to the DA to work on fighter skills and for some good fights.  I was in there tonight and as usual the Rook side had more people than both the Bish and Knights combined...no big deal more targets.  Then I get ready to take off on my second sortie and 3 sets of Rook bombers shut down the FH's at the Knight base.  When they eventually go down they up again and shut down the FH's at the Bish base.  Those that did it may think it was funny but all it does is prove what kind of jerks you are.  There was really no point other than to piss people off.  So my wish is to have indestructible hangars or sector walls so that the jets and bomber can't get in.  On a side note unlock D3A's, Ju87's, and SBD's but lock the ords.

You probably should report them. Get em into trouble. Just film it, find out who it is and tell HTC.  :aok

While it might make me feel better to report them, I see no other point to it.  By reporting them it still does not fix the initial problem.  I'm not even sure if it is against the arena rules.  If you'll notice I did not name names nor do I wish to because all that will do is start a flaming session and make me look like a troll.  All I am doing is requesting that a problem be fixed permanently.

I've always been up for a 70,000 ft. mountain surrounding the furball area, then make it that you lose all your fuel at 69,999 ft. Should really piss of any idiot who tries to get in there with bombers.  :devil

Am I reading this right? They shut down FHs at a Nit base and then shut them down at a Bish base? Oh, I see, your talking about the DA.

Why would they even allow ords in the DA anyways? Really, for that matter, why even allow bombers?

I cant wait for school to start again.

Indestructable hangars and no ords makes sense to me. I'd allow bombers, though, or at least the ones that can have an attack mode.

Bombers and ordinance are available in part of the map in the SE corner, I believe. can they set hangars as indestructable at specific fields? If it's a global setting I'd say NO because of the bombing range in the SE corner. It's the only place other than the Mains to practice a bombing run and actually see RESULTS.

Now if they could set up the Training Arena to give you the "Target Destroyed" message when you successfully knock out an object that would be different....

Yeah I was talking to Humble a while back about A20s not being allowed to duel.. If the ordnance could be disabled, it'd add a few of the fun bombers to the list of duelig tools..  Sort of like a .showrv8, but .ShowNoOrd instead, where you can fly at least some of the bombers without any bombs.  Then again if all the objects were indestructible, bombs wouldn't matter, and the only reason not to have bombers on the can-fly list is ackstars.  The TA has the practice ranges for bombing, so that wouldn't be anything lost, as far as I know.  IIRC it even has airspawns near the targets, so you don't even spend much time flying to them.

Moot,

Something IS lost. As I said in my post, the Training Arena doesn't let you know if your ordinance would have destroyed the target, so there's no way to tell if a near miss would have been sufficient.

This is a very easy fix, just turn the object hardness all the way up.

That is just lame.  Why would you even try to close down the opponents in the DA?  I'd be sending a film of that to HT.  Those are the types who deserve a perma-boot.  What dweeberie.

Hey "the DA is fine", "quit whining", etc :P

The objects are indestructible in the TA?  Why?  Would very short rebuild times be a good alternative?  Could make a good suggestion to HTC.. It'd allow the indestructible objects/A20s enabled solution in the DA.
