Films and ride alongs
« on: July 08, 2008, 06:05:40 PM »
Not sure if this has been suggested or not, if so please ignore.

As a new player I have been watching a lot of films, and even had the chance to ride along with some good sticks to observe.  If I remember correctly, when flying along you can not hear the throttle work, or see the flaps working.  It seems there are a couple of things missing while viewing films.  In my opinion, most people watch film to learn, maybe there is a way to better illustrate what changes the pilot is making to his plane during a flight (how much throttle, wep, flaps, rudders, etc.) while watching film.  If possible of course.

I agree.  It would make it a lot easier to use films to teach other players how to properly use the flaps in the P-38 but the film doesn't show them being deployed or retracted.

And color coding the trails would be great too.  Either color coded just to speed, or a choice to map the color gradient to elevator, or any other input, or Gs.. That'd be pretty useful I think.

Forgot to add it would be very helpful to experience black/red outs. Along with the planes shaking.  This would really help a new person like myself to see how close to the threshold the better sticks can push their planes.  Just my .02
