Another NFL Wide Reciever Busted For Drugs

Amazing...What the heck makes these guys do drugs?? Culture? Enviroment? WHAT?? All the talent in the world, just thrown away. Sad.  :frown:

Jaguars' Jones arrested on felony drug charge

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones faces a felony drug charge in his former college town after police say he was inside a car cutting up cocaine with a credit card.

The 25-year-old Jones and two others were arrested early Thursday. A police report said officers approached the car and an officer drew his handgun after Jones did not immediately show his hands.

Police said they searched the vehicle and found a plastic bag filled with a white substance that tested positive for cocaine and a jar with possible marijuana residue.

Jared Hicks and Benjamin Cook were also arrested on misdemeanor drug charges.

Jones was released from the Washington County jail on $2,500 bond. His arraignment on a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance was set for Aug. 11, two days after Jacksonville's preseason opener against Atlanta.

Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver said he was waiting to learn details of the case.

"We're trying to investigate that now," Weaver said. "We don't have all the facts. We will comment on that once we have all the facts."

Jones, a star quarterback at Arkansas and a first-round pick in 2005, failed to develop into the go-to receiver for Jacksonville.

Jones caught 77 passes for 1,075 yards and nine touchdowns in his first two pro seasons, but he struggled in 2007.

Last season, coach Jack Del Rio became increasingly frustrated with Jones' demeanor and work ethic, making him inactive for three games. In the offseason, the Jaguars signed free agent Jerry Porter and traded for former first-round pick Troy Williamson.

How bout Lofa Tatupu getting busted for drunk driving there Rip?

I love it how its always alleged or suspicion of drunk driving, just because someone refuses to blow a breathalyzer.

Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. His blood-alcohol content was measured to be nearly twice the legal limit.

Tatupu, 25, played the past three seasons for the Seahawks and served as one of the defensive captains the past two years. He released a statement through the team Tuesday apologizing for what he characterized as a "poor decision."

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

What makes them do drugs?

1. They can.

2. They've been allowed to do whatever they want for years.

I remember opening up the CBS Sports webpage about 3 weeks ago, 8 out of 10 headlines were about players either coming out of jail, going to jail, getting busted, or plea bargaining.

And people wonder why I say "hope not" when they say my son might make it pro someday. (of course, at this age, they're just being complimentive)

I am extremely curious as to why you bring up a Seahawk drunk driving infraction compared to Cedric Wilson, cut earlier this by the Steelers, for beating the crap out of his wife. And then there is linebacker James Harrison who was arrested and charged with assault just a couple months ago? Guess your guys win again!  :lol

Cedric Wilson was acquitted and later dropped by the Steelers, and James Harrison's charges were dropped.

Nice try.

Why do you bring it up and call me specifically out Nef? I'm extremely curious. Do you honestly believe that I believe our team players are exempt from drug or alcohol behavior?

Why Nef? The only thing I can figure out is that SB40 win still feels so shallow to you.  :devil

FWIW, Cedric's case has still not gone to court.  Perhaps the Steeler's are getting tired of all the domestic abuse players on their team over the last 4 years? Hell, just do a search on "Domestic Abuse" and "Steelers".

I was just bringing it up for the sake of this thread, just wanted to hear your thoughts on it as I know your an avid Seahawks fan.

Don't jump to conclusions, I wasn't bashing Tatupu or the Seahawks.

There as in Seattle, Ripsnort as in you, yourself. What do you think about it? I find it strange he wasn't charged for wreckless driving too.
