problem with map
« on: July 11, 2008, 06:44:13 PM »
I am having a problem moving between bases.

I can click the buttons on the clipboard, and move the map to view it, but cannot move to a different base. More confusing is that it worked well 2 times, but I can't figure out why.

The right mouse button allows me to view options. I tried the .move command and receive the message that I cannot move to any base I choose.

I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1526. I've tried both the touchpad and an external USB mouse.

Thanks for the reply Fugitive, but I can't move between any base. It works well with my desktop computer, but the laptop is having problems.

Also try moving with both dot move command and double-clicking a green field icon while in Offline Practice mode.  The dot move always seems to work for me but is sometimes slow during online play.  If the double-click does not work, it means I’m on the verge of losing UDP and getting discoed.  So it appears that there is some communication between the computer and the game server to check if the field is a valid field to move to before the move is allowed.  The laptop may be blocking that communication somehow.

I sometimes get the same problem, but all I have to do is reset the game and it works fine.
