I grew up as an independent with republican leanings. If you had asked me 4 years ago If I would vote for a democratic black presidential candidate I'd of not only said no, It would have been hell no.

Yet now I find myself agreeing with Obama over McCain again and again.
Frankly McCain scares the crap out of me.

Personally I see Obama getting elected, I just don't see him living too long after taking the oath of office.

Somehow the most liberal member of congress appeals to you?  Either you're full of it, or not aware that you are half a shot of vodka away from full blown bolshevism.

Polls and predictions don't mean anything this time (as if they ever do).  I'm counting on the closet racists from my father's generation to either stay home on tuesday or flat-out disobey their union bosses when it comes to their voting choices.

Isn't it funny how the National Journal scores Obama #1 lib in 2007, but #16 on 2005 .... exactly the same thing happened when Kerry was running for President... all of the sudden he's #1 lib.... go figure..

#16 is still too fargin liberal to be President.

Rank him however you like. Then go to a site like On the Issues

and read the actual positions he's taken.

No matter how you would personally rank him, his actual history is that of an EXTREME liberal by any standard of evaluation.

Ron Paul, Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin are ALL better choices than Obama.

Missouri now 45% for both candidates, new numbers show
Obama: 320
McCain: 204

I'm in the same boat as Ghost, heck even my mother likes Obama, and she has always been incredibly conservative.

If he is the most liberal, why were Hillary and Edwards supporting universal healthcare while he said it was a parental responsibility? He seems more conservative than a lot of Democrats, but hey who cares right? he's a democrat so we should automatically assume he's the devil.

I personally am tired of tax cuts while the government spending continues to increase, continuing the rise of inflation.

Strange comment in light of the current government borrowing Billions to fund the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan form the Chinese. What is it called getting in debt with the Communists to those amounts?

Obama... the whole concept still cracks me up. I laff so hard, it pisses my kid off. Only thing that had me laughing harder was Billary. THAT pissed off my wife.

McOld is more popular than I am at the dinner table.

I keep reverting to the 'pick a turd' analogy...

If the only choice we have essentially amounts to choosing between two turds... would you rather have a fresh turd dumped on yer living room rug or a petrified one? At least the petrified one don't stink oppressively, and it's a heluva lot easier to clean up.

.... sparkling dinner conversation.

How does McCain scare the crud out of you? I personally wish that Mitt Romney got the nomination because I dont think that McCain nor Obama would do any good. They both just seem like a young black Jimmy Carter and a Really old Jimmy Carter.  :aok

From what I heard about the guy Obama might pick as our running mate, that guy is BAD (Too tired to look up names)

I'm thinking about getting away from the O'club or atleast threads like this... I dont feel safe with McCain nor Obama... I sometimes get more frustrated than Ray Charles trying to read a Were's Waldo book...

Obama should win by a wider margin than that.  I think there just trying to make Mccain feel better.

Loan sharking more like it. The Chinese will call in that debt one day & Taiwan will be the price.
