Why is it so...?

Why is it that when someone bails their aircraft disappears??  What is the reason for this? it doesent seem to serve any purpose other than to rob the immersion of seeing your enemy's aircraft spiral to the ground and explode...is there some REASON for making the plane vanish the instant the pilot bails?

Somebody told me that the reason is because it would cause lag because of all the extra moving objects (falling planes) that the server would have to track...that makes no sense at all.
A: wouldent that apply to bomb/rockets/bulletts? all are falling objects?
B: its not like there are ever more than say 10 aircraft falling out of sky at the same time..

So whats the deal? why not let the aircraft continue towards the ground till it hits and explodes? it would add some immersion for one thing..and it would just look cool.  I for one dont get much of a kick out of shooting a con all up just to see it smoke for 3 seconds and the vasnish into a little parachute..looks kinda dumb to me.

So why is it this way??

HTC, why not just let them crash?

Yeager is correct, if I remember, the list looked like this:

Item # 2347 Enhancement: Perk the C-Hog
Item # 2348 Enhancement: Allow visualization of A/C plummeting into the ground.

I remember when WB first did it, it was 1.06 I believe.. or there abouts. I remember the first time I shot a P38's entire tail boom off and watched it flutter to the solid colored non-textured terrain. The pilot bailed out and his chute icon floated away from his plane. The plane did summersaults to the ground with a white icon over it and later exploded.

Furballs were a lot of fun watching several planes fall to the ground and explode with lots of chutes around.

I can be out of icon range, and see wings and pieces of airplane shot off fluttering through the air, so not to sure of the lag issue.

Untill the change is made, maybe we should all agree to ride em down to give the victor his reward.

Do I sound weird if I say I DO tend to ride it in for the benefit of the Sim? hehe. I agree, the plane should be there even when you bail. It will not only entertain your foe, but gives you something to look at as you float down from ten k when you accidently hit O too soon.
